First time flying out of YUL and I was pretty impressed by the staff all the way from check-in and security, to the restaurant staff.
Really helpful and were happy to double-check I could bring my (fairly sizeable) Habs souvenir with me onto the plane.
Difficult to find your way around. Feels less organized than other airports.

Montreal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport is a modern and clean airport with friendly staff who guide travelers through the terminals. The airport offers a variety of eateries with global flavors. The restaurants open very early in the morning, making them ideal for travelers with early flights. From cafes and bakeries for a quick breakfast to restaurants serving full meals, there are options for all tastes and budgets. Many travelers enjoy the airport shops, which are well distributed and easy to access before or after security checks, offering souvenirs, designer clothing, beauty products, and electronic gadgets. The interior is super clean, and the airport is functional with good public transport options like shuttle services, taxis, and bus lines connecting to downtown Montreal and surrounding areas. Passengers can also enjoy the walk on the runway outside, which is a pleasant experience.
However, some travelers report that driving or picking up someone can be frustrating due to poorly marked paths and brash staff directing traffic, making the experience stressful. Parking can also be complex, with signs not always clear and high rates adding extra costs. The lack of smoking areas inside the airport can be inconvenient, especially during long layovers or delays, requiring travelers to plan for outside smoking areas. Despite these issues, the airport’s organized environment, numerous shops, and relaxing spots make it a generally pleasant place to pass through. Overall, Montreal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport provides a welcoming atmosphere with many amenities to enhance the travel experience.
