Astoria Bistro Botanique

Food was great and the large restaurant was very busy so make a reservation if going at a time that might be busy. We had the kimchi fries with cheese curds which was amazing and a huge portion. We also had a pizza and gnocchi which we took home a lot of because of the fries! The pizza had a bechamel sauce and the gnocchi were perfect.

The food was phenomenal. The service, exceptional. You can tell the food is made with love. I had the taco salad, but also tried the green curry. Brunch is served until 2pm. Highly recommend trying this place. Updated from previous review on 2025-02-28

The dishes were well presented. The flavours of the dishes we ordered were well-balanced. The prices were quite affordable if you consider the fact that fast-food costs about the same price. The kimshi poutine was spicy as kimshi is suppose to be. It was not spicy enough to entice me to drink the pitcher of water the waitress had in hand. It was not greasy like non-vegan poutines are. Fhe fries were just crisp; the skin of the fry is crisp while the inside is soft. The vegan cheese used suprised me as it was not to soft but not too hard as some feta false cheeses are. The mushroom pizza was perfectly presented. There were not too much mushrooms but not too little. The cheese was not greasy as some cheeses do on frozen Daiya pizzas. The crust was perfectly baked. The outer layer of the crust was baked to bee crispy on the outside and soft enough to be enjoyable. Updated from previous review on 2025-02-24

Brilliant. Everything we had was mind-blowing. The Bistro Burger is a gourmet burger. The ‘salmon’ Benny (for breakfast) is delicious. Treats are fantastic. love it!! #Veganuary

Another excellent evening at Astoria - a fully plant-based restaurant!

Service was friendly and efficient, the atmosphere calm yet dynamic (for a Thursday evening), and the food on point as usual!

What we come here often enough for is the cocktails by a mile. The Chai Old Fashioned is one of the best in town, especially as it is properly done with the single cube and added bitters.

Always a pleasure to visit Astoria - especially when there is nearby parking available!

Everything was perfect, the dishes pleased everyone (even the non-vegetarians!) and the menu is very diverse which is a big plus. We are always so satisfied with our visit to your restaurant. Mention Oatnog coffee: well caffeinated and tastes like magic.

We had a wonderful experience. We called to let them know we were late, and they accommodated us, moved our booking and even let us order ahead of time. Our dishes were ready when we got there, and it was literally the best vegan food we’ve had in the country. No notes!
Our server was lovely, the drinks were great. I don’t know how I’ll be able to go back to regular mac&cheese after tasting Astoria’s version.

Just wanted to point out that the booking system let us book a table on Christmas Day, but when we (luckily) checked the opening days, the restaurant was closed.

We had an 11/10 experience here. As vegans we are so excited when our dine out experience exceeds our expectations, and Astoria absolutely did. My biggest recommendation is don’t skip dessert.

This place is beautiful and their food is amazing. I have been here a few times now, and most recently brought my family in for a late brunch on Boxing Day. We ordered the hangover poutine, benedict, gnocchi, buffalo wrap with kimchi fries, and lion's mane steak. We loved everything and left feeling full and happy!
