Had such a wonderful experience at Ben et Florentine, thanks to our server, Teu. Even though the restaurant was packed for breakfast, Teu was calm, attentive, and always had a smile. We’ll definitely be back — thank you for making our morning so enjoyable!

Gatineau is not exactly overflowing with great breakfast or brunch spots, but Ben & Florentine is a solid go-to when you want satisfying options. The food usually hits the spot.
•
The freshly pressed orange juice was actually fresh and tasty, and we made a delicious new discovery with the croissant-waffle combo.
•
The restaurant was full and buzzing on a Sunday morning and the service was a bit slow, but the servers stayed friendly, smiling, and checked in when they could.
•
Although not an “elevated” brunch experience, if you are after a wide selection, generous portions, and a reliable breakfast fix, this is a great choice in the area.

Food was good but wasn’t made the way it usually is. I ordered eggs Benedict and hollandaise sauce is suppose to have pesto in it. Couldn’t taste any in it. When shared that with our server, she said she will bring more sauce after adding more pesto. Which I appreciated but then my meal had way too much sauce. Couldn’t taste anything else and by then my food was all cold. She shouldn’t taken my plate back and brought new one. Very disappointing. I wouldn’t not go back to this location. Service was friendly though and atmosphere was very nice.

The opening hours are 7am during the week, not 6am like on Google
Great place for family brunch. Get there early, sometimes it’s difficult to have a free place. The wait is not long though.

Our personal experience was not great.
After being seated, it took 45 mins to receive our food. Moderately to lightly busy on a Friday, but still unacceptable.
Portion size for the kids meals is terrible.
For the adults, neither of our food was served as ordered. My eggs Benny with well done eggs was served with runny eggs.
The restaurant certainly got busier, so there are those who enjoy eating here. Perhaps we were just out of luck with our experience.

Used to like this place. Super disappointed with what I received for the price I paid. No cheese on crepe and it had a weird smell. Chunky hollandaise sauce with brown liquid settled to the bottom. Undercooked slimy eggs whites. The only thing that was good was the meat and potatoes. The other half of it ended up in the trash.
Food was good, got the skillet (4/5)
Service was great (5/5)
Espresso is drip coffee for some reason (0/5)
Reasonable prices

Eggs Benedict so cold the cheese never melted and lots of egg shells. Mentioned to the server and no action taken to compensate for the shortage. Also super long before being served. I would go anywhere before going there for lunch.

Very disappointed!! I went to eat with a friend, we ordered but did not receive the assistance and I received a call from the hospital saying that my grandmother had a few hours left to live… I went to see the waitress to tell her that I had to leave... she literally laughed in my face saying that my plate was on the pass and that if I didn't pay it, she would have to pay! I mentioned to her again that I was going to die and she told me to deal with the cooking. The cook told me ''I'm going to take it out for you and make it right'' I told him that no, that I wasn't going to waste it since I wasn't going to eat at the hospital... that he could take back the meats since nothing was touched etc. (I have worked in a restaurant for 7 years)
Another waitress came and asked me what was going on. Me with tears in my eyes explaining to her, she smiled and also said that the plates were on the pass so I told her again quite disappointed and she only said to me “in your case have a good day bye” extremely stupid
Very insulting and disappointing..

The service we received was disappointing due to the waitress's lack of engagement. She did not make eye contact or greet us with any warmth, and her demeanor was impersonal, almost like she was going through the motions. A simple "Hi, how are you?" and a more friendly attitude could have made a big difference in our experience. It's clear she has the potential to improve by showing more attentiveness and care for her customers, which would enhance the overall dining experience.
