Mardi Gras is very much a hit-or-miss club. Because the cover charge is higher ($20 rather than the typical $10), when the vibe is off, many people end up heading to Le Petit instead. On slower nights, it tends to attract an older male crowd and can feel uncomfortable. That said, if you plan it right, you can still make the most out of it. Not every night or most nights will not look like the videos I have attached but if you get the right ones. They have a nice layout seating areas and two bars one near the seating side one on the other side connected to the dance floor. There’s a little upstairs area too.
When Mardi Gras is packed — especially during special events — I’ve had some of my best club experiences ever. The lighting, decor, and layout are genuinely beautiful, and the energy can be incredible when the space is full.
Tips and things to know: • Event Nights: Arrive early. They oversell events (e.g., Halloween), so even with a ticket, you might not get in. Lines can take 1–2 hours. • Fast Track Entry: Expect to pay up to $50 extra to skip the line, on top of a $30 event ticket. • Seasonal Vibe: It’s best during summer Fridays. Cold-weather weekends are hit-or-miss. • Crowds: It’s less packed than Le Petit, which makes it slightly safer for women — but always stay cautious and bring a group. • Atmosphere: Quiet nights can have a noticeably older male crowd and an off-putting vibe. • Payment: Cash only at the door. • Ottawa Staple: A big Mardi Gras event — when done right — is definitely a classic Ottawa nightlife experience.
Bottom line: I wouldn’t recommend Mardi Gras for a casual Friday night if you’re over 18. Ottawa has better low-key options for a chill outing. And if you’re trying to avoid the chaos at Le Petit, Mardi might not be the solution — unless you know for sure it’s a good night or come much later and time your arrival for when it will get busy. Always check the line and peek inside before paying so you’re not disappointed or stuck in an awkward, not full enough club.

don’t come here if you want to socialize with more than like one other group. i’ll never experience disappoint again like when this place took my twenty dollars then put me and me 3 friends in a room with one table, some couches and chairs, and literally 5 other people. not to mention the bouncer pressed my friend who showed his LEGAL drivers license, he was the only one of us with substantial facial hair.

I went to this club just after the igloo fest, they lost my coat, after 30 minutes of discussion the person in the locker room clearly disrespected us even though it was his fault! She absolutely did not want to find a solution for us, I find it deplorable for an establishment that welcomes customers, the atmosphere was great but just for that I put 0 stars for the deplorable customer service that I had to face, I absolutely would not recommend this place just for that!

I mean if you’re in Ottawa or Gatineau, this’d the BEST PLACE for clubbing. Majorly you’d find 19-26 aged ones, AND the atmosphere is crazy over there!

Worst club experience EVER!!! We all bought tickets for new years, before they sold out. None of us got in, we stood in the freezing for an hour + Ticket holder line never moved. People were getting in tho, if they paid $100 each at door, for spevial bracelette to skip all the ppl who already bought their tickets! Super Crooked, bad business, HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT! I saw the horrible reviews and didn't heed their advice, huge waste of time money and what could of been a great night!

Went here for a halloween event (37$/ticket)... the music they play is decent with only a few bangers. service was friendly. it can just get very crowded as the night goes
Worst place, they sell tickets beyond capacity and make you wait for hours, they spoiled our Halloween. They also cancelled Dec 21st 2023 Thursday night, I bought online ticket and after reaching they closed the club. Never responded to refund claim.

We Got in, Got attacked by a group. But because that group knew the owner we got kicked out. Horrible club with bad morals. Don’t go here if you dont like getting kicked out of a club, highly unprofessional, and would highly recommend not going here. Absolutely ridiculous, the guys were threatening multiple people and didn’t get in no trouble because they know the owner. You could go here just don’t expect anything of great quality, especially not the morals or the etiquette of the workers.
