The goat cheese I ordered was not edible. Very hard it was and was not fresh at all and I paid a lot for a little food
The restaurant is fast, good service, a good atmosphere and the meal has an African flavor.
I really found myself in the DRC

This is the worst African restaurant i even been !!!! I don’t usually give review but we have to do better as a black owned business! I was there with my husband and brothers we spent 500$ + tips but I was very disappointed! My brother accidentally broke a wine glass 🍷 but I believe shes the owner she rudely talked to my brother in front of everyone like a kids which it’s was vey embarrassing I own a hair salon in American but I will never do that to anybody I really regretted being here ! That’s why I don’t really like to go to Congolese business very rude , 0 custom service and trust me be aware of this place Shmm ! That glass don’t even cost 20$ to behave like this! Theirs is a way to talk to people and no like this !!!!!! Update!!!! Please don’t talk about kindness when u don’t show that to people ! I’m not making this up ! There’s a way to approach someone when incidents happen so please I don’t have to lied or make this up because I don’t see the point!!! My brother was so embarrassed and that was our bad experience to your restaurant!!! And I will never forget this one !
So haughty hostess
CHICKEN MAYO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The meals are good. The taste is there. We went with some Quebecers and they were pleasantly surprised by the good food. Please reduce the salt in the chicken mayo, it's too salty. Plastic is highly carcinogenic, find a supplier who will cook chicouang without plastic.
With complicated parking, please try to be on time.

To all lovers of African cuisine, if you are passing through Gatineau and want to tantalize your taste buds, I highly recommend the Makasi restaurant. The braised chicken thighs and plantain fries are absolutely succulent, like all their meals. Go and enjoy!

I visited Makasi earlier this year for my birthday. We had great service and the food was delicious. The plantain and goat were very fresh and the beignet delicious. I hope moving forward everyone can have a positive experience like I did and support this local business. It makes me sad to see how many bad reviews they are receiving.
