Sham Restaurant - Shawarma & BBQ Grill

I've been eating here a few times a week for years. Best shawarma you'll find on both sides of the river. Unfortunately lately they've been focusing on their new location downtown, and the Hull location is never open anymore. You'll drive by 100 times and 98 times they'll be closed. Everyone in the neighbourhood thinks they've shut down permanently. It's a shame

Website has an issue -- as soon as you scroll down, a bit orange arrow pops up obscuring the content. I won't go to a restaurant if I can't get a look at their menu. I emailed the site owner.

I ate the healthiest Chicken Shawarma I ever had in my life. Real Food, Home Made, not too greasy or anything, Amazing. I will definitely be coming here more often. They also host parties and events, and have Shishas. Great place

We ordered a falafel platter and a shawarma platters, very generous portions, very good quality food, very fast and attentive service.

Go here for the food! Syrian food so delicious I went there twice during our trip to Ottawa. It is six minutes from the Canadian War Museum on the Gatineau side. The owner is friendly and he serves some of the best Mediterranean food I've ever had-since I live in Toronto that's saying a lot. We had the Sham special- chicken shawarma, salad and garlic potatoes - each mouthful was wonderfully flavored.

My mum and I were just wrapping up a day at the museum, when we decided some poutine might hit the spot. We happened upon Sham, at the suggestion of Google Maps. The owner quickly talked us out of poutine and into the Sham Special, and OH MY GOODNESS are we glad he did. We were blown away by the entire meal; lovely, crispy Syrian chicken sandwich, DIVINE garlic sauce, and the most delicious salad I’ve had in ages. We both exclaimed “Oh WOW!!!” around our first bite.
The owner was wonderful, made us feel right at home, and chatted with us about all kinds of things. All around it was a fantastic dining experience, and we will definitely be back, repeatedly. I cannot recommend this place highly enough!

What a gem of a place! The food was not only beautifully presented but absolutely delicious. The flavors were rich and authentic, with fresh ingredients that made each bite better than the last. I especially loved the variety on the plate—everything from the chicken to the salads was perfect. The staff was friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. Sham Restaurant was the perfect spot for a birthday dinner before heading out to see Sugar Sammy! Highly recommend for anyone looking for great food and a warm atmosphere.

This might be the best shawarma I have had in the area. There is a special flavour in the shawarma that is not found in other generic shawarma restaurants in Ottawa. If you live in Ottawa it’s worth crossing the bridge to try one. Good prices too and super friendly owners.
