The British Hotel, Restaurant & Pub

Not travel as we are local. Only rating the restaurant. We shared chicken Nacho which was delicious, and had a couple of beers. Lovely setting out on the terrace. There was just a stench coming from one part of the terrace so we changed table.

Wonderful place and highly recommend . The pub’s food is great and the atmosphere is so nice ! Mostly we get our usual calamari, pizza and draft beer and the great Caesar cocktail. The service is excellent and we always had wonderful servers. Very attentive and nice . Definitely recommend the pub for drinks and food . We also had family staying in hotel part and where happy with the rooms and reasonable pricing .

For my upcoming flight from Ottawa, I chose to stay at The British Hotel, at least my friends recommended it. The hotel room was very nice, with a simple and nice design. There's no doubt about the cleanliness. The bathroom was more than adequate, but of course, this hotel has some flaws. First of all, I would appreciate it if the host saw this. Please, when booking through AirBnB, please don't hesitate to inquire about the personalities of the people who were there. There was a group upstairs yelling wildly, and I think they were watching a game and smoking weed. Who knows??? I called the host and told him I would call the police, but the host said the police don't come to these kinds of events and didn't seem to care. Apart from the management who obviously tried to push us away, the hotel is excellent. Definitely grab a bite to eat at the pub and restaurant, and definitely stop by the little sweet ice cream shop down the road.

Last night I ordered a 1-liter sangria, but when I asked for the bill, they charged me for a 2-liter one. I complained to the waitress that I didn't order 2 liters, but she was all rude and arrogant and told me it wasn't her problem! Make sure to check what you order and what they bring you... the waitresses are sneaky.

Nous avons passé un agréable moment sur une belle terrasse relaxe, parfaite pour savourer l'apéro en toute tranquillité. L'ambiance extérieure était vraiment plaisante, bien que les chaises de terrasse manquaient de confort et que les tables avaient tendance à balotter, ce qui a un peu nui à l'expérience. En entrée, la bruschetta était correcte, mais sans se démarquer particulièrement. Le plat principal, un fish and chips, a malheureusement déçu : le poisson était trop cuit et la panure très dure à casser, ce qui rendait le plat difficile à apprécier. En revanche, les frites étaient excellentes, croustillantes et bien assaisonnées. Un point très positif : le service était irréprochable. Le personnel était attentionné, rapide et souriant, ce qui a grandement contribué à rendre l'expérience agréable malgré quelques bémols culinaires.

My 3 adult daughters and I came here to celebrate a special occasion. The food in the restaurant was decent but the hotel stay was unsettling and unsatisfactory. We stayed in room 301 where the noise from the nightclub below pounded until 4 am. When we finally got to sleep, the fire escape door in the room blew wide open (during the storm) to the outside in the middle of the night which scared all of us. Safety at the hotel is an issue as the hotel section is not secure. There is no front desk and there are no locked doors to separate the bar from the hotel so any of the drunk patrons from the club could use the elevator or the stairs to access the upper floors. Finally the next morning there was no electricity so the elevator was stuck on the second floor and none of the accessibility features were working. Consequently we had to carry our luggage down 3 flights of stairs. When we reached out to discuss our concerns we were offered a discount on our next stay. You've got to be kidding...with a night like that we definitely won't be back again !

The service was truly outstanding — warm, friendly, and attentive, making us feel like valued guests the entire time. Our server was great with the kids, too, which we really appreciated. Our food came out quickly and was absolutely delicious. Everything was perfectly cooked and full of flavour — exactly what we were hoping for. The portions were generous and reasonably priced, making this an even better value for a family lunch. The relaxed, easygoing vibe made it a perfect spot for parents who just want to enjoy a tasty meal and spend some quality time together without any stress. We left The British Pub feeling full, happy, and eager to come back. Definitely a great place to enjoy good food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended!

First time using self check in and it was easy!
The room was spacious clean and bathroom luxurious!
Comfy bed and lots of sunshine coming in room !
Great views, right on main street of Aylmer and close to Marina.
We enjoyed our stay !

It took a long time for the waitress to come a get are ordered. Took a long time for the meal to arrive. Brought the bills and waited 20 minutes until someone from our table got up to ask her to come so we could leave. The two waitresses where just standing in the back of the restaurant
