“High quality selected Japanese Tea you never find somewhere else in Montreal, and they have Japanese tea set from Japan as well. The owner is very friendly and her snack menu is real Japanese taste and so delicious!! You must go see and try!!“

“I had the Avocado-matcha smoothie (only served cold) that was amazing! It was served with dates and cranberries. The place is super cute and the owner is nice and friendly. Price is insanely respectable.

“I get chai lattés all over Montreal. The chai latté here gets first prize! First of all, thank you for having soy milk. I don’t like oat and can’t have dairy. 2nd, he doesn’t use a horrible chai « syrup » like a particular other very well known American chain does. It’s not over the top sweet. It’s simply perfect. Worth the drive to Outrement. Support local businesses! Support this one!“

Aside from tea, he also carries multiple handmade clay tea pots which are on the pricier side but definitely something worth saving up for and potentially splurging on! “Visiting Ming Tao Xuan for the first time was a delightful experience that left me feeling both relaxed and inspired. Nestled in the heart of Old Port Montréal, this charming tea house offers a serene escape from the bustling streets outside. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with an interior that exudes traditional Chinese elegance. Shelves lined with clay pots and jars of loose-leaf tea added an authentic touch, while the soft lighting and gentle background music created a tranquil atmosphere perfect for savoring tea.

The service was impeccable. The staff greeted me warmly and patiently guided me through their extensive tea collection, answering my questions with expertise and enthusiasm. Their genuine passion for tea was evident, and they took the time to explain the origins and nuances of different varieties, making the experience educational as well as enjoyable.

I decided to purchase 100g of Jasmine Yin Zhen, a premium white tea infused with the delicate aroma of jasmine flowers. The tea's subtle fragrance and smooth flavor were captivating, and I was impressed by the quality. The staff even offered tips on how to brew it properly to bring out its best characteristics.

Overall, my visit to Ming Tao Xuan was a sensory delight, combining a relaxing ambiance, exceptional service, and a remarkable selection of fine teas. I can’t wait to return to explore more of their offerings and perhaps expand my tea collection with one of their exquisite clay pots.“

“This was definitely one of the top places I got to visit during my short Montreal work trip.
I almost just went to Tsujiri a block away because of the brand/ name recognition and it’s closer to the hotel I was staying at, but I’m sooooo glad I gave this place a chance/try 🤩💛

Both of the days I came (yes, it was so good I had to return the next day lol) it was filled with people both dining in and grabbing things to go. The oat matcha latte I got was whisked to perfection (I wonder if it was the owner at the bar), and you could tell that the matcha was made with such care, precision, and craft 💚 The matcha scone that I got, however, kind of stole the show for me, lol. It had a perfect caramelized crunchy exterior, while the inside was moist, matcha forward, aromatic, and baked to perfection. I had to physically stop myself from not devouring the whole thing in one go, and I was sad that I wasn’t able to get the scone again the next day 😮‍💨

A (hopefully not so) hidden gem in the neighborhood, and I can’t wait for my inevitable return to try more things in the future!“

“What a AMAZING EXPERIENCE. Thomas and Steven have procured some of the finest things to offer. We ordered The King Afternoon Tea. Everything offered was completely delicious, and made in house. I have food allergies and they even made a few changes for me. Hibiscus’s based tea from Fortnum and Mason was they perfect compliment to scones, mini quiche, beetroot mimosa egg and other sweet and savory treats. I even iced my tea. Service was beyond GOOD. Give yourself a HIGH TEA moment.“
