“It was here that I first discovered Lanzhou noodle soup, and it quickly became my favourite place to eat during the years I lived in Montreal from 2014 to 2018.

After leaving the city, I moved around quite a bit across Europe and the Americas. In each new place, one of the first things I’d do was search for the best Lanzhou noodle spot. Some of those bowls were excellent, but nothing ever matched what I remembered from Nouilles Lan Zhou.

When I finally returned to Montreal this summer for the first time since 2018, I came back here and ordered a bowl. After six years, I realised what I’d been missing. The flavour and texture blew me away all over again.

Thank you, Nouilles Lan Zhou, for serving me the best bowl of my favourite food. I can’t wait to visit Lanzhou itself someday to try the original, but this place will always be special to me.“

“Really cute and interestingly designed place, the interior has a lot of character and the open kitchen layout makes this establishment a bit more intimate, hearing the wok and chefs communicate while making your food was a cool addition.

The service was great and the staff are very friendly but the food speaks for itself, the dumplings and Shanghai noodles are a regular order we get, we recently tried the spicy peanut butter noodles as well and I’ll be getting those again. For beverages you can order a variety of alcoholic drinks along side teas, matcha latte, sodas, and complimentary water. I highly recommend either the chicken cabbage dumplings or the beef and onion, you cannot go wrong with either choice.

If you are deciding if you should try this place - it is worth it, there are a lot of dumpling places in the surrounding area and this one falls on the middle to higher end of the ranks for the area.“

“I recently dined at Mike's Restaurant and was very impressed with the experience. The service was incredibly fast, the food was delicious, and the ambiance was pleasant with a moderate noise level, which is a welcome change from other noisy restaurants. However, the place was a bit small, which could be a problem if it was busy. Overall, a great dining experience.

“One of the few high-end Chinese restaurants in Montreal! The food is authentic Szechuan, so be prepared for spicy food if you order from the special menu (it's worth it). I highly suggest reserving and pre-ordering the Peking duck, lobster, or Vancouver crab. Unlike many Chinese restaurants, service is excellent here. The free parking after 5 is also appreciated. Decor is casual-chic. And also unlike other Chinese restaurants, the place is spotlessly clean. I'm so glad Piment Rouge is back. It's a great place for a casual meal or a big celebration. “Yeah, the decor and atmosphere feel like a Manhattan Bowery noir--not a place to bring a fancy date... Customer service is basic but honest. The food is surprisingly good: I had the salt-and-pepper chicken, the spicy eggplant, and some Singapore noodles. They could have soaked the eggplant in salt before cooking them, but the taste is fine. I'd go back and sample more, definitely.“

“Had a lovely lunch with friends visiting from Toronto. The service was warm and welcoming—our waitress was especially kind and attentive. We really enjoyed the seafood pizza and BBQ chicken pizza, both were full of flavor and cooked perfectly. The Thaily salad was fresh and delicious, and the shrimp appetizer was a great start to the meal. A great spot for a relaxed and tasty meal!“
