Was my first time having breakfast at this place. My husband and I were seated next to the kitchen area. The atmosphere wasn't great. Our server wasn't friendly and was slow to take our order. She looked tired.

We observed her talking to visitors at one point, not paying attention to customers.

I asked for syrup for my french toast and she brought me a small amount. Afterwards on the bill I discovered I was charged $2.50 extra. At the prices being charged for the plate, syrup should be free.

The server never advised me that there would be an extra charge. She then told me it was because it was maple syrup and not table syrup. Again, she could have asked me which one I wanted beforehand instead of assuming.

Would not return to this restaurant.

I was a regular at this location for a while now, love the serving & greeting staff and know them by name. few weeks ago, i was there on a weekend which is the usual and ordered my usual waffle with nutella instead of english cream, the new waitress came back to advice me that I will be charged $1.50 for the change. I was taken by surprise as they never told me that nor was I charged (it's the principle not how much). I asked to speak to the manager (I believe his name is Michael), who was rude and arrogant. Michael pretended not to recognize me as he served around our section several times (its funny for a manager not to be perceptive eah) then he went on to saying oh the girl that served you and didn't charge is no longer here WOW, really!!! He was dismissive, lacked customer service etiquette and empathy, my mistake was that I should've walked out with the order hanging on his head, but I am respectful of the rest of the staff that had to prepare & serve me my breakfast. I never went back and will not. I wonder how people like him get promoted while the others if you ask me more qualified with their level of customer service.

Worst experience this morning.
I am the patient and understanding type, because I have already worked in restaurants. But this morning, it went beyond the limits of respectability.
The environment was stressful and heavy. I have never seen such an environment.
A rather elderly waitress (name unknown) was constantly complaining out loud and whining incessantly in front of the tables. We could even hear him crying in the kitchen. She was angry with a colleague and even mentioned out of emotion that she wanted to beat her. For me this is unacceptable.
The tables didn't even have their orders taken after over 30 minutes of waiting.
When our waitress Diane came to take our order, we couldn't even ask her questions about the menu because she was in such a hurry. Our waitress even told a customer that it was impossible to make lukewarm milk for her young child since they were overwhelmed. Juice or coffee only.
I came out of my lunch super stressed and in shock at having witnessed such anger from this waitress.

I imagine there was a shortage of staff but it wasn't our best experience. And we are a loyal customer of this lunch banner. Very long to be served even if the restaurant was not full. And several things were cold and the coffee too weak.
We were passing through Laval, but our favorites are Candiac and Carignan. Or it's still excellent.

My partner and I have been going to this restaurant for several years now and although we particularly appreciate the choices on the menu of this restaurant chain (vegetable choice!), what makes me want to give such a good evaluation is the team of waiters/waitresses. Always very courteous, attentive and respectful. It's always a pleasure to go back there.

Vegetarian options: Several veggie choices! (Vegetable pan, omelette, etc.)

Kid-friendliness: High chairs and booster available.
