La Phare et la Lux brillent franchement parmi leurs créations : chacune bien construite, expressive, avec cette touche d’élégance qui fait qu’on y revient. Le Blanton’s Old Fashioned m’a aussi franchement séduit : soigné, précis, avec juste ce qu’il faut d’aplomb. Le service ? Sympathique, attentif, à l’image de l’endroit. Le décor est soigné, réfléchi, avec du style et de la personnalité. Le hall d’entrée, avec son architecture de haut niveau, annonce d’emblée un lieu conçu avec goût et maîtrise. We ordered combos but the food was so generous , we could not finish it,. WE had 4 boxes of left overs to take home. Food was aromatic and not spicy, Staff we lovely. Over all 5 Star dining and service. I already have a reservation to go back later this month. For future visitors to the restaurant try the Food Combos. Absolutely divine.. !!! Bon appetite a tous.”

Only downside was I thought the charge of 5$ for the gluten free pasta to be too high. I have celiac disease and had limited choice on the menu (which is normal with this allergy), but found it unjust to be charged with such a high price for the pasta change when there weren’t really other options for me. I hope they can reconsider this. Otherwise, absolutely lovely restaurant, would 100% recommend and can’t wait to go back!”

“I generally don’t like to complain, and in fact, this is the first bad restaurant review I have ever written. However, my experience with the management at La Milsa Laval was so predatory that I feel I have no choice but to warn others. We had a large booking of 23 people and paid a $500 deposit in advance. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, only 12 people were able to make it. While I understand that a change in group size can be an inconvenience, the restaurant’s response was completely unacceptable: They "stole" our $500 deposit and refused to credit a single cent of it toward our final bill. Essentially, we paid for our full meal on top of losing the $500, meaning the restaurant pocketed a massive amount of money for services and food they never provided. The Legal Issue To the management: You should be aware of Quebec’s Consumer Protection laws regarding "No-Show" fees and deposits. In Quebec, it is generally considered illegal for a restaurant to charge a "no-show" fee or withhold a deposit unless a specific contract was signed that meets very strict criteria—and even then, the amount must represent actual damages, not a flat-rate penalty. Taking $500 for 11 missing people while 12 others are still sitting there paying full price is a blatant violation of consumer rights. We were looking forward to a great night, but instead, we left feeling cheated. I strongly recommend avoiding this location for large groups unless you want to risk losing hundreds of dollars. We will befiling a formal complaint with the Office de la protection du consommateur (OPC). Quebec”

The food quality, pleasant ambience, cleanliness, and the friendly and attentive staff at the counter always draw us back whenever we visit Montreal. It was delicious, flavourful, and refreshing. Lastly, we were served chicken & waffles. The portion was extremely generous. The chicken was juicy & crispy, and the waffles were light and fluffy. Presque 30 minutes plus tard, elle nous demande si nous allons prendre des boites pour emporter ce que nous n'avons pas manger, je lui fait part que nous allons prendre une seule boite puisque je n'ai pas aimer mon assiette de grilled cheese (je n'ai même pas mangé la moitié de la moitié), elle le ramasse et part. Elle amène la boîte pour emporter et la facture, n'offre rien pour compenser et ne dit absolument rien. J'attends plusieurs minutes pour payer la facture, je demande même à un autre serveur si c'est possible de payer la facture avec lui et il me répond que non que ça sera avec ma serveuse donc j'attends... Au moment de payer, je ne laisse pas de pourboire parce que selon moi ce dernier va avec le service reçu, dans ce cas presque aucun et celui donné comporte des erreurs. Ella n'a pas vu que j'étais entrain de passer devant le poste d'accueil pour partir et je l'entends dire à d'autres serveurs/ses que je n'ai pas laissé de pourboire, une serveuse lui à même dit "peut-être sur la table". “I generally don’t like to complain, and in fact, this is the first bad restaurant review I have ever written. However, my experience with the management at La Milsa Laval was so predatory that I feel I have no choice but to warn others. We had a large booking of 23 people and paid a $500 deposit in advance. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, only 12 people were able to make it. While I understand that a change in group size can be an inconvenience, the restaurant’s response was completely unacceptable: They "stole" our $500 deposit and refused to credit a single cent of it toward our final bill. Essentially, we paid for our full meal on top of losing the $500, meaning the restaurant pocketed a massive amount of money for services and food they never provided. The Legal Issue To the management: You should be aware of Quebec’s Consumer Protection laws regarding "No-Show" fees and deposits. In Quebec, it is generally considered illegal for a restaurant to charge a "no-show" fee or withhold a deposit unless a specific contract was signed that meets very strict criteria—and even then, the amount must represent actual damages, not a flat-rate penalty. Taking $500 for 11 missing people while 12 others are still sitting there paying full price is a blatant violation of consumer rights. We were looking forward to a great night, but instead, we left feeling cheated. I strongly recommend avoiding this location for large groups unless you want to risk losing hundreds of dollars. We will befiling a formal complaint with the Office de la protection du consommateur (OPC). Quebec”
