Always a real pleasure to eat at La Coquille, the service is impeccable and the food delicious. It is also the only restaurant
where I eat Griot.

In all honesty, as much as I LOVE encouraging my community, I HATE being scammed. My opinion is long but necessary.

We were a group of people. The price of the chosen group menu: $35 plus tax, which is equivalent to $40.24 with taxes. It was agreed that tipping would be at the discretion of the guests.

They charged the guests $46 while giving them the interact machine in the tip section. Those who didn't realize it added a tip. So in total, they got a minimum of 30% tip from some guests.

Guests who noticed this and asked questions were met with the wrath of the waitress. This is truly a blatant lack of professionalism and basic respect.

Several times before the evening the question was asked: will the tip be included in the price? The answer NO
$46 for chicken, turkey, griot? Certainly accompanied by a salad or soup.

It's a shame because the food was good and this restaurant allows you to have a private space. I was delighted to have found this restaurant in Laval.

For a hundred dollars in tips, they lost potential customers as well as their references. Before payment several guests were thinking of coming back... including me. You will understand that after such an unpleasant experience, there is no longer any question of it.

I went for a birthday dinner and it was my first and last time. The service was 0, the waitress even forgot to serve one person on our table, as a result she received her dish after all the others (her dish went around the room and was placed on the counter for more than 30 minutes!). Food not fresh AT ALL. I doubt the safety! Dry dry dry salmon, I also tried the queen conch and it was honestly disgusting. The only thing that was drinkable was the tassot.. A plate served with fries and stuck rice? Macaroni salad did not smell good and seemed to have been prepared the day before, if not several days before! Finally being charged a 15% fee for the service, which we didn't get, a DOUBTful bill, and being told that the tip is not included!! This restaurant does not honor this beautiful culture! MAPAQ SHOULD TAKE A LOOK!!! $45 plus taxes plus 15% fees for barely eating my plate (we had to eat by force because it's quite expensive!)..Many of us were disappointed!
