My new go to in terms of Birthday cakes! The prices are very fair for the size and quality. Unlike many of the pretty cakes out there that are just plain sugar bombs, these are packed with flavour. Totally worth the 40‑minute drive for me.

Somehow this cafe is always closed! Ive never seen a place closing down that early during weekends.
Went there for breakfast it was really not good… the filtered coffee also tasted like water. Really not worth the price. To not even get a decent cup of coffee tells you a lot
Esthetically speaking, beautiful brunch restaurant, the service was perfect, staff was helpful and very efficient.
However, I would say that, since the restaurant has Ricardo's name, I was expecting mind blowing food, which was not the case. It was good, but nothing crazy. I will not go back, but if someone cares more about the esthetic, environment and service, I would say it's a good place to go.

The coffee is good, but the brunch menu is limited and expensive for what it is. It is not kids friendly. We ordered simple waffles and the waitress brought chocolate brown waffles and said they don’t have regular waffles.
Was not impressed
I went here for brunch today and the prices are ridiculous for what you get. I ordered the croque madame. It was one piece of toast with a little bit of cheese and barely any porchetta. Whoever made my plate was very stingy and 70% of it was a mediocre salad. Just this was $24… very outrageous pricing for such little food.

I brought a client here for lunch and was incredibly disappointed. The salmon tartare is half quinoa. So despite being the most expensive plate on the menu at $32 it was a small portion of salmon mixed into quinoa. The chicken in the chicken salad was rubbery and had a strange texture and look to it. Almost looked like a thick cold cut rather than a fresh piece of grilled chicken (which it most definitely was not). It's unfortunate because the cafe is beautiful and the plates are pretty but food quality is really poor.

Great atmosphere, cakes and amazing but overpriced. But at least their good :) ... What ruins it for me is the food. Easily double the price of a restaurant but with half of the food. A nice presentation is NOT enough to increase the price and reduce the food. It just makes no sense.

Third year in a row that Mother's Day was celebrated at Cafe Ricardo in Laval.
We were all very disappointed!!!
We were looking forward to one of our favorite cocktails...the Basil sour.
Unfortunately, it was a poor representation of the original recipe, which I duplicate occasionally at home.
Secondly, we were shocked as the bus girl reached across the table between 2 people that were still eating to take my empty plate...unacceptable!!!
Thirdly, a requested desert was no longer available due yo the fact that they had run out....the excuse given was that it was Mother's Day???...the restaurant was fully reserved ...all were aware of the number attending.
We expected much better!!!!

Restaurantji Recommends
Really dissapointed this time, my husband and I asked for a specific table that was emtpy when we arrived, we were told it was reserved for a group, minutes later a couple sits on that table, I mentioned it to the server and no apologies were made! The food is still good however very very slow service and the quanity reeeeeeeally diminished since last time...I wouldnt go back...
I guess it a lot has to do with it is the name, standard cafe layout somewhat limited menu and priced on the higher side. It was not my pick and wouldn’t good back, $ 25 for lunch needs to be something much better than I had. Plate is well presented and as tasty. Cafe was quiet , service was mediocre, but that seemed to be our waiter.
Excellent food and service. Local ingredients. Lots of vegetarian and even vegan options. Great for lunch meetings.
Spik and span, great presentation, with lots of smiles!
Excellent service and atmosphere. On the other hand, the very ordinary cuisine
