I recently visited a Portuguese restaurant in Laval, and let me just say—it was an absolute delight, not just for my taste buds but for the warmth and hospitality I encountered today. This was my fourth visit, I was impressed not only by the delicious food but also by the incredible people behind the experience.
The owner and chef truly went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. Their passion for their craft and genuine kindness made the experience so much more special. It’s rare to meet individuals who radiate such warmth.
Now, onto the food! Portuguese cuisine is known for its bold flavors, and this spot certainly doesn’t disappoint. From the perfectly grilled **piri-piri chicken**, bursting with smoky, spicy goodness, to the comforting. And don't forget, the food is Halal.
The ambiance of the restaurant is also worth mentioning. It has a cozy, welcoming vibe that makes you feel right at home. Combine that with the genuinely nice people running the place, and you have a recipe for a dining experience you’ll keep coming back for.
Whether you’re a fan of Portuguese cuisine or new to it, this place in Laval is a must-visit. I’m already looking forward to my next meal there!

There must be a lot of paid reviews or deleted reviews on this restaurant because the service and food here is well below sub-par. Please be careful of this franchise and this location in general.
We came in to this store on a Saturday afternoon, roughly around 5pm EST. The parking lot was full but the restaurant had only one small booth filled with 3 people. When we entered, the gentleman at the counter was busy on his phone and did not acknowledge us.
Once we ordered and put in our order, the problems began.
1. There almost no sauces available throughout the restaurant, except for hot. And the audacity of the staff and management to leave empty bottles in plain sight. Very disappointing when you are expecting some flavourful garlic sauces on the side. See photo attached.
2. Our rice came out cold. Flavourful but cold.
3. The peri-peri fries came out looking like regular fries. When I asked staff to re-season them, they quite literally brought out their seasoning shaker and put seasoning on the fries. My friend... I can do that at home. I'm paying more, so you do it more professionally inside your kitchen.
4. The chicken tasted ok and did not have enough sauce on it. The brochette tasted like chicken protein and nothing else.
5. We were the only group in the restaurant left once the other table left. The other table was left unattended and uncleaned for the majority of our duration there. Please see photo attached.
In general, the staff seemed inattentive, distracted and uninterested. While it's true that this review is staff-focused, I believe it is poor management and lack of care on their part that allows such poor quality of food and service to continue. There does not seem to be any pride in the food being served here nor in the service.
In summary, we regret coming here for food and were fooled by the high rating allocated to this establishment. I do not think Grillado will ever be on our food list again and it's a pity that a halal place is in such a state. Again, in general, to my fellow foodies, do be careful about places that have really high scores like this because likely these were a result of early snowball effects or incentive-based reviews. These are educated guesses based on what I've experienced today and upon examining the body of reviews submitted on Google (incl. from food-ordering apps)

This place used to be good, but it seems like the owners have changed. Let’s start with the portions: you’re paying $18 for a piece of chicken that looks like this—it’s just not right. The chicken was so skinny, honestly embarrassing. I won’t lie, the chicken tastes good, but for the price and the portion size, is it worth it? No. Also, why is it so cold in the restaurant? 😭!
