Very good food quality, very friendly and professional staff, prices increased a little bit recently but are ok. Sometimes is very noisy but has a good vibe and atmosphere. Reservation is easy

We went to the Laval location off hours on a Saturday, first time. I was disappointed - there was no menu in English or at least a translation on the French menu - it was totally in French and my French is weak. I think they should accomodate our English population too. Everything on the menu was a la carte unless you ordered the meat platters. I believed the french fries were fresh cut, but our plate was frozen crinkle fries. Our bbq burgers were good. All in all, I found the prices very high. Atmosphere is great. I may go back, but will have to study the menu from home before ordering.
P.S., The lady servers should have their long hair tied back when serving.

The food is good, but the experience was disappointing. The restaurant was extremely cramped and overcrowded, to the point of being uncomfortable. The cowboy-style American decor didn’t help the atmosphere and felt off-putting.

The service was worse. The hostess clearly didn’t want to be there. When we were seated, the only thing she said was that we had two hours and then walked away. I’ve never been told that before, and it felt rude and unnecessary.

To make things worse, our order came out wrong. They offered to fix it, but I didn’t want to delay the meal and eat separately from my family.

Overall, good food doesn’t make up for the cramped space and poor service. I’m not sure I’ll be back.

The best BBQ is here. Brisket, Ribs, Bucket of wings on Sunday -all great. Wish they had better sides like fresh cut fries instead of processed, mashed potatoes, baked beans, etc.. Way better than Diablos (tough beef ribs and brisket)

VERY DISAPPOINTING

This was my wife’s and I first time visiting Jack Flats BBQ. We arrived at 4pm on a Tuesday and they just opened. We looked at the menu and the server came over and asked if we had questions and we said it was our first here. Here explained the small menu and pointed out the ‘Jack Flat BBQ Experience’ and said that’s what they’re known for. Not being a stranger to BBQ and have a really good idea as to what great BBQ is and what should come a platter of ‘Huge meat trays and accompaniments’ (that is what is described as) we ordered it for us. It was $49 per person so it would be $98 as it’s a 2 person minimum which we were holding at the explanation of the menu or is it listed on the menu. We ordered 2 cokes and they came in the smallest glasses, pretty much a hi ball glass. Our ‘huge meat trays and accompaniments’ arrived and I was very under whelmed at first glance. 1 tray had 4 ribs, 3 pieces of brisket, 3 slices of turkey and 4 pieces of pork belly and 2 pieces of plain white bread. The other tray had fries, caesar salad and green beans. Keep in mind there was no option to pick what meat or accompaniments it came with or did it would t say what it came with. I’ve been to numerous BBQ places in the US & Canada and this was probably the worst for what was offered in a platter that gives you a good sample of what they have to offer. The turkey was kinda dry and cold, the brisket, ribs and pork were ok, nothing great by any means for their rating of 4.3 with 2.2k reviews. Not sure why anyone would want a caesar salad at a BBQ place but where’s the baked beans? The Mac and cheese? The corn bread? The coleslaw? Potato salad? Instead here’s some green beans and salad and plain krinkle cut fries and plain white bread. The sausage? The pulled chicken? I gladly would have not had the dry turkey and had a sausage but there was no option to pick your meats or sides. Throughout our meal we asked for refills on out pop and they refilled out small glasses and brought them back. End of the meal I asked for the bill and was charged $3.50 PER POP/REFILL for a total of $17.50 with ZERO mention that the pop wasn’t free refills nor did they have ANY mention of fountain drinks on the menu so we didn’t know the price. Needless to say the bill came to over $130 after tax and was definitely not worth it. I will not be coming back at all. I know BBQ isn’t cheap but the value for your money and the fact no refills on pop and not told about it is ridiculous.

We had the jack flat experience in a group of 5 and it was great, so much food that we had to get 3 take out container back home.

The service was great and very fast even though there were multiple events happening at the same time.

We’ve been to several bbq restaurants in montreal, and they always have some Texas decorations , but this place was blaring country, everyone wearing a Stetson and even a waitress wearing daisy dukes. I’ve been to places on the south like this. And this was a fun imitation of those.
The menu had did not have much information on what the food actually was going to be. For example no information on what’s in the Jack flat burger, just a name and a price.
The food came out really fast.
But none of the food was hot. The bread was toasted but full on cold.
The brisket had a nice smoke ring and taste but tepid. The ribs were dry and lacked taste.
There seems to be some games upstairs. Kids seemed to be having fun

Nice atmosphere, great selection of cocktails and tasty food, kinda disappointed by the size of the portions though, i(and my friends) found them not big enough, otherwise they're coming fast and they're delicious

We got the sangria and the platter to share the one at (49$ per person) which gives you 3/4 lbs of meat each with 5 sides (Nashville chicken, mac and cheese, fries, coleslaw and cesar salad). The food was good especially the pork ribs and pulled pork but what should have been the star, the brisket, was dry, a bit tough and well a bit flavorless. Although the service and atmosphere was super fun and top notch we enjoyed about half of the items on the platter. Also, if one person in your group doesnt eat a lot I would recommend ordering one share less. We left with leftovers after stuffing ourselves. Overall, a fun experience but the meats could have been better.

Ok food, however it’s very pricey for what you get at times. For example, 1/2 pound of certain types of meat, which comes with no sides of any kind, are somewhere between 20-30$. For St Louis cut of ribs, this comes to 20 something dollars for 4 ribs. Kind of ludicrous considering there’s no sides with that.

We usually go when they have $30 for bucket of 60 wings and share a pitcher of beer.

This time around, I got a pulled pork poutine. Pork is one of the cheapest proteins around. Potatoes are the cheapest vegetables around. It was $25. The pork was not pulled pork. There were large chunks and most of it was not pulled apart. It was sliced pork. I make my own smoked pulled pork and it’s better than what I was served. I barely tasted any smoked flavour. For a smokehouse, this is just…embarrassing. It was slathered with a peppery sauce which overtook the entire dish.

Will likely not be back. The greater Montreal area deserves a better smokehouse.
