OMG was the food goooooood! We got the $115 table d'hôte and were shocked by the amount of food we received - there was so much that everyone in our group got to take home doggie bags!

I’ve been a regular visitor to Laval from Chicago and have dined at Sofia several times. During my most recent visit, I was turned away when I requested a table for dessert only, citing a “no tables for dessert” policy. When I questioned this, the owner told me he makes exceptions for people he recognizes, but not for others. As a paying customer who has supported this business repeatedly, I was shocked by the inconsistency and lack of professionalism. The dismissive attitude left a very negative impression.

Everyone deserves to be treated with fairness and respect, regardless of whether they’re ordering a full meal or just dessert. I won’t be returning and would encourage others to think twice before supporting a business with such arbitrary and exclusionary policies.

Attitude? Horrible. Our waitress had attitude from the second we walked in. The looks and weird smirks we got from her were for no reason whatsoever. I made sure to let one of the waiters know that their service is horrible as I walked out. Oh and it also took 40 minutes to get our truffle fries which we cancelled a few minutes before they finally decided to bring it out. The night ended with their machine not working so we had to pay with cash unless we wanted to wait til their machines worked again.

Service is absolute garbage and no free water. We spent over 100$ and have to buy overpriced water ? You wont see my wallet anymore...

The proportions r extremely small, customer service is horrible, getting dirty looks every second, w a few people in the restaurant couldnt even get someone to come help us, it took at least a good 20 minutes to get a hold
If someone. never ever coming back again

you have to pay for water...what an absolute joke

The service was good. The food was not what I expected. We were 5 people and only 1 main dish was you can say worth the price you paid. The vegetarian pizza looked more like a Margherita pizza. I counted 10 zucchini, 4 eggplant slices, 5 half sliced peppers, and 2 oyster mushrooms. Hardly any cheese. You can say the bare minimum for the price ($26). The pasta dish with sausage and rapini looked like an entree dish. The salmon had a tablespoon of rice and a couple of leaves of vegetables.
The only presentable dish was the prosuito pizza, which looked good.
I understand the cost of food has gone up, but the plates looked miserable.
I can think of many other Italian restaurants to go eat where you get your money's worth. This place I would not recommend.
