I ordered from Sesame through Uber Eats and was very disappointed with the quality of the food. I usually love Sesame in Montreal, but the Laval location was a completely different experience.
The coconut soup had almost no flavor — it tasted watered down and bland. The rice in the poke bowl was soggy and lacked taste as well. Overall, the meal did not meet the standards I’ve come to expect from Sesame.
I’m not sure what’s going on at this location, but I hope they improve because this was really disappointing.

This was my third time at this restaurant, and unfortunately it was the first time I left feeling disappointed. It was a quiet evening with only about three tables seated, yet when I walked in, I was neither greeted nor acknowledged. I eventually found my reserved table on my own, and we then waited about 30 minutes before anyone came to see us. Our drinks took another 20 minutes to arrive, and the food was served lukewarm.
No one checked in to ask how the food was or whether we needed anything. The only time we were approached was at the end, when we were asked, “How many bills?”
It was especially embarrassing because it was my first time bringing my friends here, and the experience did not reflect the positive visits I’ve had in the past.

I had a reservation at 13:15 and arrived at 13:08. Even though the bar seats were empty, I was left waiting for 20 minutes. I had another appointment within an hour, so unfortunately I had to leave without being served.
What disappointed me most was the waiter’s attitude. A couple who arrived just two minutes before me were served, while I was completely ignored. During the time I was waiting, he chatted with another waitress, took orders from other tables, prepared a takeout order, and poured drinks for two different tables — all while making eye contact with me and still not acknowledging or serving me.
I have been to this restaurant a few times before. In December, I came for the first time and really enjoyed it. In February, I brought my family to try it, and we all liked it. I was even planning to come back with friends.
However, this experience completely changed how I feel. I wanted to have a special Valentine’s Day lunch, but instead I left feeling ignored and embarrassed. As a single woman dining alone, I should never feel like I am less important or not taken seriously as a customer.
Because of this experience, I will be looking for another place in the future. Very disappointing.

This was not my first time here, but the food experience was the worst. One of my friends got the soup so cold, she had to go back and request to heat it up. The pokes came with old and cold rice, my Pad Thai contained only the tails of the broccoli with no heads. I mean seriously? We went on Sunday and it seems we got the leftovers of Saturday!

I do not recommend to order online from this restaurant. Not only did it take longer than expected (no fault to the Uber driver)…. But an item was missing from delivery and food was mediocre for the price. As I was unable to get a refund, I had to go pick the missing item. On the phone they agreed to add a dumpling discovery entree as compensation and recanted on it when I went to pick up the missing item. Saying because I ordered from Uber eats they were unable to do so. This was confusing since I ordered from the Sesame website and not my Uber app…. Needless to say I will not be ordering from here again. Very disappointing for the price I paid. Not worth it…

The food was very good, but the portions were very small for the price. It was 25$ for a small bowl of chicken teriyaki- and there was barely any chicken in it… it didnt even seem to be half a chicken breast worth of meat.
It was overwhelmingly vegetables, which were amazing (cooked and flavoured right) but i definitely expected more chicken. I paid 3$ extra for it to be served with fried rice instead of regular (fried rice was also delicious). So in total my plate was 28$ which is very pricey in my opinion for the amount of food i got. The rice too was small in quantity imo.
IN SUMMARY- i really enjoyed the taste but just found the portions tiny. And im not usually someone who eats in large quantity.
I also got a drink which was decent, nothing to go crazy over. In total with tip i spent just under 60$.
I dont think i would go back because of the portion- and if i did go back i think it would be way more worth it to just buy the tasting menu for 2 rather than my own plate..

Mais quel bonheur d’avoir mangé chez vous ! Tout était délicieux et frais. Une belle découverte pour nous. Ce ne sera certainement pas notre dernière fois. Merci encore.

The place is beautiful, very cozy and modern. The food was delicious — I had the fried wontons with peanut sauce and they were amazing 🤤. For drinks, I tried the spicy margarita, which was also delicious but definitely on the very spicy side (I’d maybe go with a little less jalapeño). Prices were fair, not exorbitant at all, which makes the whole experience even better. Great food, great vibe, great service. I’ll definitely come back!

I usually love sesame and I go a lot in montreal but this was my first time trying the Laval location… Seems like the chefs just don’t care at this location. My pad sew was sitting in a bowl of oil (see Figure 1)? I’m not sure if it was just too much sauce or if they accidentally put too much oil in the sauce. And my soup came room temperature. When a meal is 24$ you gotta have chefs that know what they’re doing sorry. Stay away from laval location!!

Overall a very nice experience. The food was very good except for the pad sew due to noodles being a little hard and the steak was quite dry.
