“It's a Monday night, calm and easy. The tempature outside was perfect for biking in. The bartender was pleasant and gave us a seat in back next to a water fountain. The decor from inside to out really stands out and makes you wonder how the more occupied nights hold out. The food was good and drink to taste. “We had lunch at this # Brasseurs location on St-Paul E. in Old Montreal on Thursday May 2, 2024. We choose this because we had a very good time at the other on on Rue de St-Denis on Tue 4/30/24. We had just completed a 2-1/2 hr walking tour that ended near here. So exploring is thirsty work & it was lunch time. Big brewpub with 2 levels. The upper level was hosting about 100 high school students on a field trip. We sat at the bar and were immediately acknowledged by the busy bartender, Marina. She brought menus & waters and took our drink orders. I had a spicy Bloody Maria ($6.75) & my bride had a white wine ($10). I had a loaded, juicy burger w/ frites ($20) and she had the chicken Caesar salad ($16). Well prepared, burger hot & salad cold-perfect. Après avoir expliqué la situation au gérant Sam, il me propose des shooters gratuits en compensation, ce que j'accpate directement! Malgré cela, il me sort de l'établissement en prétextant la fermeture du bar. Aggressivement, et sur un ton très condescendant, il m'informe que le bar doit fermer à l'instant, et que je dois quitter sur le champ... Je n'ai jamais reçu ce qui m'était du, et offert!! Personnellement, le bar: "Le madame smith" est un bar où je ne retournerai plus jamais, tant le service que pour le respect du client! -1/10 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼“

“Wow! We came for beer and maybe something salty to nibble. I expected the beer to be high level and it was. A pleasant surprise was that the food was every bit as good as the beer. “Friendly service, music a little loud, but when we asked for 7 different shots of just one type of alcohol each, apparently it was too complicated for the bartender. But we were served lots of different drinks before… Excuse being that they are short of staff. Would he have refused us 7 B52s because it was too complicated?

Maybe it's just the bartender, but this is the first time I've seen this.

That said, they accept that we bring food from elsewhere when they close the kitchen, and I had fun.

This a franchise chain with 16 locations in Canada. Really busy here on a Tuesday evening with a mix of regular locals and visitors. We didn't have a reservation but found seats at the bar quickly. Tuesday drink special liter of beer $9.50 & NHL hockey on all the TVs. I had their very good Jolly Hopper ($6.75) & a 9oz pinot-grigio (6 OZ $10,25 | 9 OZ $15,50 | 750 ML BOTTLE $39) for my bride. See also had GRILLED VEGETABLES & GOAT CHEESE TARTI-FLAMM $8.25 | FLAMM $19 - a unique, well prepared, right-sized treat. I had to have their poutine, as I have not had in since my previous visit many moons ago. This was packed with excellent smoky brisket over the classic poutine of frites, cheese curd, & beef gravy. CARBONADE POUTINE FRIES $18.75 | MAXI $22.75. Shout out to our server: Laurent J. who maintained his poise with a smile on a very busy evening. Merci. “Visited Pub St Paul for an after work gathering. It had a rustic vibe. The staffs were friendly. We were served a custom pre ordered menu that included food and drinks. Food was good, the best one being the fried chicken. Tried a virgin pina colada which I thought was a little too sweet for my taste.
Overall we had a nice experience and everyone had a great time.“
