Les Délices Lafrenaie Montréal-Ouest

I don’t usually leave reviews, but this experience was frustrating and worth sharing. I ordered a custom cake five days in advance for a specific size. When I arrived, they had made it smaller than requested. Mistakes happen, and I appreciated that they offered to remake it for the next day and said I could keep the smaller one.

But later—half an hour before closing—I got a series of frantic calls saying the cake was actually for someone else and they needed it back. Since the store was closing, I returned the next day with the cake (which had spent the night in my fridge) and picked up the corrected one.

The whole situation was handled poorly. It was inconvenient to make a second trip, and frankly, it's unsettling that a cake meant for another customer was out of the store overnight. They offered nothing to acknowledge the mix-up or the inconvenience, which made the whole experience feel dismissive. We've been regular customers for years, but this has made me reconsider.

If they had vegan products I would give a 5 star review. There are pasta sauce jars and dry pasta which is vegan, but nothing on the prêt-à-manger section. It is a favourite place for sweets for my family except me. Cozy small place with few chairs to sit while you enjoy your pastry or sandwich.

Everything we tried was fresh and tasted amazing. I brought the lemon raspberry cake to a party and everyone asked me where did I get it!

A very cute place, has a rustic vibe to it, which i like (gives the feel of a real bakery) and the cakes are to die for. Especially the Frutti di Bosco, so great. Highly recommend it

The frutto di Bosco is a most to try ! But every time we taste something fresh in front it taste like the fridge and the cake is dry.... But overall the frozen cake are excellent and the lady very sweet

We ordered a custom cake and everything turned out great. We gave our design and specifications - it turned out EXACTLY how we wanted. Not only that but the cake was AMAZING! 👏👏👏

Ordered two pies online and they delivered the wrong items while still charging me more than double the value of what arrived. The pies they delivered even had the price tag on them which just added insult to injury. I tried to contact them multiple times to resolve and return and was ignored every time. I ended up successfully contesting the payment via the bank, but it’s terrible customer service when you’ve made an error like that.

Loved their pastries, especially their red velvets and their cheese cakes.

We ordered our wedding cake from this location and it was both beautiful and delicious! The staff were friendly and helpful and made tasting easy; they designed something beautiful (we didn't have strong ideas on how the cake should look); and they coordinated with our venue to get it delivered. Most important (to us), it was really good cake and our friends and family enjoyed eating it. I would definitely recommend Les Délices Lafrenaie for anyone looking for a wedding cake in Montreal.

We love ordering cakes from your store from red velvet to strawberry shortcake. However, yesterday we dropped by and ask for a good cake to try but unfortunately the 'death by chocolate" failed our expectation. We felt sad because it is too sweet and couldn't finish just a slice of it. It's a bday cake for our son and even him just acted like it's ok just to show that he appreciates our effort eventhough he couldn't finished his cake too. We know the cake's name should have warned us already but it's extremely sweet!! Maybe next time we"ll stick with our chocolate mousse, red velvet and strawberry short cake.
Please try to check this death by a chocolate and maybe do something about it :-(.

We were so happy with our chocolate sheet cake (so moist and chocolatey) decorated per our design submitted (decorated to perfection). Excellent service for ordering by phone/email, nice and patient staff. Price is within standards. Highly recommend and will order again!
