I have been there several times and I find that the location is perfect, not very far from the performance halls. The food is good as usual, but the service is often really ordinary. This was the case during my last visit on 2024-11-08.

I come to this restaurant almost every day I work since I work in the neighbourhood and the morning staff are lovely. There are three staff I'm used to seeing. They are all really nice. One is named Justin. He always has a personable way about him. There is also a black man who's funny and a woman who might be Indian who is very kind . All friendly and all sweet. I usually order a Englis muffinwith egg, cheese and mayo, hash browns, a small or medium coffee and an apple turnover.

Tonight I went to the A&W in the evening at about 11 p.m.. I had a completely different experience.I asked the man at the counter if I could use the bathroom.

He was rude and dismissive with me. I told him I was a regular customer. He refused me access and told me the bathroom was broken. I said, "both of them?"

He turned his head and ignored me. I have fibromyalgia. It's a chronic pain illness that affects neural responses and causes intense pain. When I have to use the bathroom, the urge hits me last minute which means I can have accidents and if I try to hold it, it hurts and prevents me from walking properly.

After leavi g the A&W tonight, I had to walk over 6 blocks to the McDonald's on Saint-Denis near Ontario Street. I won't be coming back to A&W. I don't want to give my money to a business that isn't respectful of people with disabilities and that treats its customers that way.

Here's a picture of the cashier. I don't recognize that uniform....and here's a picture if my bank statement over the past few days. I WAS a regular customer.

Dear Mr. J-C D., given your experience and your sensitivity, I cannot recommend the Macdonald highly enough located at 640 Rue Sainte-Catherine, Montréal, QC H3B 1B8.
There is no permanent security guard, although there are still some homeless people, they are supervised very closely by the latter, and that is an understatement; you will also find employees in perfect harmony with your philosophy of life who will quickly offer you a charitable shoulder in order to
welcome your tears.

Regarding this A&D, although more expensive than the others, we must praise all the efforts made to offer a product in every way identical to the advertising offer! A rarity, just like their humanity which fully deserves its weight in loonies.
Beyond blaming the unruly clientele who frequent the area, they can repel them with a chair and a whip, but they are not responsible for that.

I was treated with discrimination, disrespect, and dishonest behaviour (including passive aggressive trolling while pretending everything is normal) at this location on July 31, 2024 at 11am. I have been to this place many times before, and what should have been a simple order turned out to be a very weird misunderstanding by the person working there. I simply asked for breakfast sandwiches (eggs & bacon), which I've ordered before many times, but the lady started insisting I was ordering a burger. Obviously, she was not qualified to work at A&W for not knowing a breakfast sandwich from a burger, so she shouldn't have been hired in the first place. At one point, she switched languages while speaking. That's a big no no in etiquette. The customer is paying them (they are not paying the customer), so they must speak the language of the customer (even if I am bilingual), let alone, some people intentionally switch languages out of trolling to basically slow the momentum of a customer down who is right while they are wrong. I called the clerk out on that, so she spoke my language again. After my order was put in as English muffin with eggs and bacon, which I assumed was right. I saw the sandwich I was ordering on the menu screen, so I showed the clerk the sandwich, and then she claimed that's what she had in mind when she said "burger" even though there was no "burger patty" in it. Go figure! This person must be fired immediately if she thinks a breakfast sandwich with no burger patty is a burger at a famous burger joint like A&W. I would have let that go, but then I got trolled further. Suddenly, some lady who worked inside the restaurant came out of nowhere and asked me if I wanted butter with my breakfast sandwich. I have ordered that sandwich many times before. They never ask me if I want butter with it way after I made the order already. I have encountered this kind of trolling behaviour at other places. Anyways, you have information on the date and time of the incident, please fire all unqualified employees and employees who troll customers. Otherwise, I am going to have to record my interactions next time on a camera, and if I receive discriminatory treatment, I will be pressing a law suit or putting the video online.

Very small checken wrap, long waiting time, serving orders is not organized by ordering time. I missed the metro because of the delay to eat a small piece of chicken.

Overall underwhelming service from the staff, they seem lost and confused in the kitchen. Last time I went, my apple pie was in such rough shape it looked like someone stepped on it. Down right uneatable.

Wheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair accessible because of a steep step to get inside.
