Renaissance Montreal Downtown Hotel

Wonderful experience! Highly recommend

The breakfast at the Renaissance Hotel is absolutely amazing! fresh, delicious, and with a great variety to choose from. A special mention goes to Gabriel, who offers outstanding service every morning. He is attentive, kind, and really makes the experience even better. Truly a wonderful start to the day highly recommend!

Very modern hotel, very good breakfast, nothing more to add.

Boy I struggled with this review. The hotel is absolutely beautiful. The rooms are modern and clean. The staff is decent. But the restaurant is sub-standard. I stay at 100s of Marriott properties and this one has so much potential, but just misses the mark. Here's why: three restaurant screw ups and no fixes. First time they forgot half of my dinner order. Kitchen was closed by the time they tried to fix it. Second time, for breakfast, they mixed up the order, so an hour for breakfast. Then this morning they brought under cooked eggs. The staff seemed ambivalent to the issues at best.

Three screw ups in three tries? Not good.

I'll keep to the Chateau Champlain or the Queen Elizabeth next time I'm in Montreal.

In the heart of Downtown Montreal, great hotel, friendly reception and lovely rooms. Everything was perfect, would stay here again.

Great hotel in the middle of downtown. Steps from shopping, metro, and food. Rooftop terrace had great service and ambiance

Front desk always quick to get back via their instant chats and went above and beyond one night and left popcorn for movie night with my family. I wish we could’ve checked in sooner. Not sure why Marriot brands have such late check-in.

Lighting could improve in the rooms - you have to turn all the lamps on at night and even then it’s dark.

Otherwise, rooms very clean and modern. Air con wasn’t noisy in my room as other reviewers had issues with this. But I had a second floor room which was quite noisy due to street level chatter. Would ask for higher floor next time.

The USB lamps/ports could use fixing too.

Really great place to stay downtown. Walking distance to shopping, dining, and metro.

Great location just steps from PVM. I wish they indicated the pool is closed when I made my reservation.

Terrible customer service from reception and management. Stayed one night. Room was spacious, nicely decorated but beds were just about adequate - not comfortable. Air con very loud. My main complaint is that when I asked if I could stay another 1 or 2h beyond my Bonvoy membership 2pm late checkout, I was offered to pay as much than for the whole stay! I didn’t appreciate this and hurried out of the room not to incur steep dishonest charges instead of taking a power nap before driving back to New York.
As I rushed out I forgot my toiletries in the bathroom - circa 300$ of perfume and skin products. Obviously I never heard back from hotel and was never offered to pay for shipping back home of my belongings.

The stay overall was good. However, the room service was awful. We had ordered breakfast at 10am. At 10.45am, the restaurant said they never received the order. At 11.30am, the front desk ans the restaurant said they had no idea what happened. By noon, we realized we are never getting our breakfast and had to head out with hungry kids in tow. They did give us a complementary breakfast in the restaurant for the next day. While the food was good, we never got cutlery or water for most of our time eating there. Overall, I wouldn’t mind staying there because of the location. NEVER eating there though

Great location! despite what online shows and despite what the room TVs show. THERE IS NO POOL. restaurants and bars close at 9. Only complaint really. Showers are great!
