I’m very disappointed with my recent experience at Akami Sushi. When placing a sushi order — already quite expensive — I simply added a polite note in the optional instructions asking for two spicy mayo sauces. To my surprise, I was charged over $7.66 for that. I was never informed of this additional fee in advance, nor was there any clear indication on the menu or at checkout.
This kind of undisclosed charge feels highly misleading and unacceptable. While I understand that extras may come at a cost, such fees should be clearly communicated beforehand. Charging over $7 for two small sauces, without prior notice or consent, raises serious concerns about transparency.
I hope the restaurant reviews its billing practices to avoid giving customers the impression of being overcharged.
