We went to Au Festin de Babette for brunch on a Sunday, and it was such a lovely experience from start to finish. My friend had called ahead to reserve a table for two — definitely a good idea, as the place is quite popular.

The food was great and the portions were generous. The pancakes and chocolate mousse got especially rave reviews. The tables were very close together and the room was loud, but it was cute and cosy.

Au Festin de Babette offers a charming French-inspired brunch experience that feels like a little escape to Paris. The hot chocolate was definitely the highlight. It was rich, creamy, and with a variety that makes it hard to choose just one. My eggs Benedict with smoked salmon was good, and I especially enjoyed trying gratin dauphinois for the first time.
