We had the perfect wedding reception at this location. The team was amazing and made it such a special time. We were back to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary too ❤️

Nice restaurant. Very expensive and the food very ordinary. Tasteless. I won't go back there.

Review for Auberge Saint-Gabriel Hotel and Club

We booked the New Year’s Eve package at Auberge Saint-Gabriel, expecting a memorable evening, but it was an absolute letdown. The package included dinner, a cocktail (which turned out to be cheap prosecco) at the entrance, a midnight drink, and access to the dance floor and DJ. Unfortunately, the experience was anything but enjoyable.

The food was below average, the service was mediocre, and the music got unbearably loud as the evening progressed. By 10 PM, it was impossible to have a conversation at our table. When we finally went to the dance floor, it was packed beyond comfort, with VIP tables taking up most of the space. The music was obnoxiously loud and far from enjoyable.

To top it all off, no one even offered us the midnight drink that was supposedly included in our package. After the countdown, we couldn’t leave fast enough. This experience cost over $300 per person, and from my perspective, it was a total waste of money.

The hotel and event management seem more focused on squeezing every last dollar out of the event by overselling tickets and VIP tables rather than providing a quality experience for their guests. Avoid this place at all costs, especially for New Year’s Eve parties.

Tourist trap. Food was average and overpriced. Absolutely no taste - we had the Cod and Saffron potatoes for our main and the Burrata for the starter- absolutely no flavour - honestly, the chef has no palette - none saffron at all on the potatoes - manager offered us a free dessert but didn’t even come over - to top it off the constant smell of ass from the Fondue did not help - average at best

We were on the third floor, we couldn't hear anything the DJ was talking to us, we couldn't hear the music downstairs anymore.

Delicious fresh rolls with Rosemary butter was amazing. Cool loungey vibes. Caesar salad was underwhelming at best and DO NOT ORDER THE LEG OF LAMB ...awful. 4 thin slices of what tasted like deli meat with a low quality demi glace, the polenta base was the only good thing about the dish. $27 dollars to valet...never in the states ...maybe just culture but when a restaurant offers Valet in the US you tip as it is a provision.

Very superficial experience, the service is expeditious, we are very far from what we can expect from a “French” hostel. The place has real potential but unfortunately not highlighted correctly, the perfect example of what “luxury” does at its worst…

Let me start by saying, this was the absolutely most incredible meal that we had in Montreal over our 5 day stay. Just wow!

The atmosphere, the music, the fireplace, and the food were outstanding! I had a small but special request in advance for the chef for my meal and they eloquently obliged this request.

The wine selection was perfect. Let’s talk about the filet! Perfectly cooked and so tender! Order the spit grilled cauliflower - absolutely to die for! The brioche buns with rosemary sage butter were a delicious treat! Also we loved the mashed potatoes with incredible sea salt flakes hitting the palate perfectly.

We have been wanting to come here for more than 20 years and it did not disappoint! 5 Stars ✨ We shall return!

Good food, quality service, you still have to count on more than 120 dollars for a complete meal (starter, main course, dessert) and a minimum of drinks

Beautiful place where I took groups of tourists in the 90s. And I went back not long ago and it was even better than back then!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Culinary Gem with Rich History!

L'Auberge Saint-Gabriel is a true treasure nestled in the heart of Montreal, and my recent visit left me absolutely enchanted! Dating back to the 1600s, the rich history of this restaurant is palpable the moment you step inside. The ambience is simply unmatched—charming, warm, and steeped in character, it provides the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable dining experience.

The service was phenomenal; the staff were attentive and knowledgeable, making us feel right at home. Now, let’s talk about the food! The appetizers were nothing short of incredible—each dish a delightful explosion of flavor that set the stage for the main course. I highly recommend trying their signature offerings; you won't be disappointed!

The cocktail menu is a true work of art! Each drink was crafted with precision, showcasing unique flavors that perfectly complemented our meal. To top it all off, we indulged in a fine bottle of wine selected by their amazing sommelier, who guided us to the perfect choice to elevate our dining experience.

Overall, L'Auberge Saint-Gabriel is a must-visit for anyone seeking a remarkable meal in a stunning historical setting. I can’t wait to return for another enchanting evening!

A perfect place for social events (wedding). We chose this place for its charm but, above all, it was the entire course of our event that made it a wonderful evening. We tested the menus offered for the events: a delight. On the day of our event, everything worked like clockwork since the professionalism of the employees proved to be an asset through the quality of service. During all our procedures and preparations, the flexibility of the staff and organizers greatly contributed to this success; we remember this: simple and warm. It wasn't just our experience that counted in our rating: all of our guests loved the place, the food and the service. I highly recommend it if you want to have a great evening and good memories.

Vegetarian options: This menu choice is tasty

Dietary restrictions: The staff is attentive to the particularities

Parking: Obviously, it’s old Montreal; but there are still the alternatives of paid parking on the streets and at the science center. Some of our guests have opted for valet service to make life easier

Kid-friendliness: The children's menu for events is tasty; even the parents were into it!

Wheelchair accessibility: The Truteau room is an ideal place for people with reduced mobility
