Travelled a distance to go here last night. Showed up at 9:35 and the doors were locked with several people inside. Hours are advertised until 10 on google but still locked. So we went up in through the patio to see what’s going on to be Ridley greeted by a male employee saying “I’m not the one who locked it we are closed.” Totally wasted a long walk to get here when there are a million place In Mtl we could have travelled too. So we ended up at the place right next door the cage sports bar had a fantastic meal and greeted by people who actually want customers and appreciate them. I give this Baton Rouge less than 1 star. Change your posted hours or move your restaurant off of tourist ste Catherine if you want to close at 930 this isn’t the st for you.

Second time.
Bâton Rouge Grillhouse & Bar
So, this is the second time I visited Baton Rouge Restaurant at Complex Desjardins as per the Owner’s suggestion. From owner , “We hope to see you soon so that we can serve you better.”
I was with my husband and it was his first time back since the closure.
We sat in the Bar area at a booth. I hate to say it but again it took a little while for of us to get our drinks and then our food but we enjoyed our drinks while we waited.
We did not get an entrée and we both ordered Rib Steaks. He requested his steak be well done and burnt to a crisp and I requested mine medium well. Then we both ordered the Garlic Mashed Potatoes. We also ordered one Skillet Mushrooms and one Signature Peppercorn Sauce.
Then came the food and just by looking at his steak we could tell that it was not well and as he cut into it, there was some pink. Then I cut into mine and it looked even pinker than his.
I made the suggestion to him that he should send it back and he said he would see if other parts of it was cooked better. Well, I sent mine back and it took a while he was finished his Garlic Mashed by the time I got my steak back. He said his steak upon examination was not better when he cut into it elsewhere. So again, I made the suggestion he should send it back but he refused on the grounds that it took me so long to get mine back.
I had eaten my vegetables and set up my bake potato because I had the toppings on the side when I decided to send my steak back.
When my plate came back to the table I had more vegetables, a fully loaded baked potato and I don’t know how but an even rarer steak than before. The only way I think that could have happened is they cooked me another steak. Cutting into it there was blood on the plate. Also, the fact that I got a fully loaded baked potato shows that the kitchen staff did not pay attention to the original order.
I have question: How is a pepper corn sauce salty as it is made with pepper ? The Signature Peppercorn Sauce was really salty. Just another issue.
We were both so upset and disappointed. It ruined our celebration and a night out. We did not order dessert and wanted to leave as soon as we could.
We will think hard about going back to this restaurant again. This was strike two.
Oh, so I did take the Owner’s suggestion and try the restaurant again but to no avail it was worse than the first time.
P.S. I like the Owner’s form letter version of his reply but can he please spell check it.

We went to Bâton Rouge at Complexe Desjardins with the grandkids after a show in the Quartier des spectacles, and I’m glad we had a reservation. The place was absolutely hopping!
I’ve always enjoyed the Baton Rouge chain, and this location is especially convenient if you’re catching a show or event downtown. Parking was easy, which made the evening even smoother.
The ribs are a huge favorite with our crew — fall-off-the-bone tender and served with a heaping pile of golden fries spiced with just the right touch of pepper. Everyone left happy (and full!).
Service was friendly and efficient despite the busy crowd, and the cheque was surprisingly reasonable for seven people. All in all, a great family-friendly spot in the heart of Montreal.

**⭐ Terrible Experience at Baton Rouge (Place des Arts) – Would Give Zero Stars If I Could**
I’m honestly so disappointed and hurt by my visit to Baton Rouge at Complexe Desjardins. What was supposed to be a nice lunch with friends turned into a humiliating and frustrating ordeal.
First, the food: the calamari was decent, but the burger was *inedible*—so greasy and poorly made that I had to throw it away. We waited **an entire hour** for our meals, only to be served something that felt like it had been sitting under a heat lamp forever.
The service? Even worse. Our waitress forgot basic things like bringing us **a fork and knife**—how are we supposed to eat without utensils? To make matters worse, there were **insects crawling on our table**, which is just unacceptable for any restaurant, let alone one in a nice area like Place des Arts.
At the end, given the awful experience, I left a **$1 tip**—not out of spite, but because the service simply didn’t deserve more. Instead of reflecting on why a customer would do that, the waitress **publicly confronted me** in front of the entire restaurant, giving me a **15-minute lecture** about tipping while my friends and other diners watched. I’ve never felt so **embarrassed and small** in my life. Tips should be *earned*, not demanded, especially when the service and food are this bad.
I left feeling **humiliated, upset, and completely disrespected**. I’ll **never** return to this location, and I wouldn’t recommend anyone else subject themselves to this kind of treatment. Save your money and your dignity—go somewhere else.

Thea was so kind to us, we had a problem with our reservation and she made everything easier. Loved the service.

We were looking for place to celebrate a special occasion and heard good things about the brand. Unfortunately we were really disappointed with our visit. Our order was wrong and had to be remade, which delayed everything. The food didn’t justify the high price—especially the lobster bisque, which was clearly frozen and served lumpy. Even the ribs and lobster lacked flavor. The staff was very friendly, but unfortunately, that didn’t make up for the poor quality of the meal.
Wanted to sit on the patio but so many pot smokers on Rue St Catherine's boulevard that i sat inside
Food is not what it used to be but it was good!
Tasty Poutine with grilled BBQ chicken, corn, tomatos and pickles. Frendly staff.
Delicious rib and great service
