It's odd that they had a security guard keeping a close eye on making sure no one with alcohol crossed an invisible line. There are restrictive liquour laws in Quebec, but it seemed like it was silly for the bar to try and recreate the openness that exists at the real Alexanderplatz in Berlin. Such a place is so open that the Dépanneurs (whatever they call them in Berlin) stay open all night selling beer and wine and the clerks would even ask you if you wanted them to open...
Cool place, I like the fact it's kind of hidden. They have a nice patio, probably only open during the summer. Interesting and creative drinks, beer a little but pricey. Style is completely hipster, great music selection.
Alexandraplatz is a dream I hope I never have to wake up from. It almost seems too magical to last. Maybe because it's only open in the summer, it always feels like a treat to go. This bar is Marie Kondo's wildest minimalist fantasy. There are maybe ten things on the menu but they're all great. They also host great events all summer long - wine nights and taco nights and a food truck festival. It's utterly instragramable - bring your out of town friends if...
