Came here for the pub crawl, the owner felt the need to tell us to buy drinks or get out. We were just getting settled. Makes me want to spend money at this absolute dive. Go

A great little bar, the drinks are cheap and the staff are very reasonable even when confronted with entitled McGill students.

The bartender with curly red hair is one of my absolute favorite bartenders in Montreal, never ceases to create a warm and enjoyable experience at Biftek- please as consumers disregard the opinions of unseasoned youngsters who seemingly aren't aware of bar etiquette in this

I had the privilege of being served by the "evil bar wench with curly red hair."Frankly, I wouldn't want to be served by anyone else in the industry. That girl knows how to pour a pint... but then... im not a loser who tips .50$ on 5 beers, a pitcher, and 2 half pints... so maybe I'm biased?

FIRE THE GIRL WITH THE CURLY RED HAIR!I have never had a bad experience here, until I had the misfortune of dealing with that witch on the top floor. From the first drink we bought she made a comment about tipping (even though we did tip?) The second drink she said she would refuse service if we didn’t tip more. Even though Quebec does service wage, the tip is based on service, which is clearly not deserved based on her horrible attitude. I don’t know what her name is but she was complaining about having to “deal with students”, which is one of the main demographics in a university city on THE PARTY STREET in Montreal. Tipping culture is its own problem but this girl is something else! We came to play a couple rounds of pool and our night was ruined by this bar wench.

I have been to Bifteck many times. Up until recently, I have had a lovely experience here. I went tonight, and the bartender asked my group and I if we were from Quebec, to which we said no. She then said, « we make minimum wage here, tipping culture is rampant here. » I then did not tip her due to her asking for it and for her attitude. I was going to tip her out at the end of the night with 10 dollars, after buying 3 four dollar beers. On the second beer, I tipped her 2 dollars for a 7 dollar beer; after she put out her hand for a tip; that was already bottled, she only opened it, nothing else. On the third beer I bought, I tipped her 50 cents, just to give her something. She then brought it back to me and said « this is insulting. » She told us that she would refuse us service if we did not tip her, and we promptly left. DO NOT go here, if the red head bartender is working.

Owner is not it, very disrespectful to the pub crawl goers, expect them to buy more drinks to make up for the free

Perfect little bar to stop for a drink. We were looking for a spot to kill some time and grab a few drinks before a show. Great prices, inexpensive in general let alone the area it’s in. Drinks$5-10 as of Jan 2024

Bar Bifteck is a super fun place with pool and foosball available for only 75 cents. We visited on a quiet Sunday, so the tables were mostly available, and when they were occupied, people were more than willing to switch with us.
