Tried Bar George my first night in Montreal. Surprised my wife after telling her we are eating bar food tonight lol. Was seated very fast, beautiful building. It was later and there was some music playing, not overbearing, comfortable volume. Our service was excellent and very prompt. The food was unbelievable, the flavor's, the textures, and presentation was fantastic. Even the asparagus that came with my beef wellington was the best I ever had. The wellington itself was outstanding, every bite an experience. The meal was a bit pricey, but felt reasonable with the atmosphere, the service, and the food quality we received. We will definitely be back for a special treat every now and then.

Firstly, it’s a beautiful setting in an old mansion. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and seated promptly for our reservation. From here, things went downhill as we were ignored by waiter, Maxime, for 15-20 minutes, only for a brusque greeting of “do you want a drink” no apology for the delay. This ruined the experience out of the gate, and left us with little desire to spend additional time or money at this establishment.

The cocktail we ordered arrived with a good amount of foam spilled over the glass and down the side, leaving it a sticky mess.

In the amount of time it took to be served, receive our food, and be ignored by our waiter, I was able to write this entire review… Despite Maxime, being a blight on the entire evening, all other staff we dealt with were lovely, and the entrees (Beef Wellington and the Rigatoni) were flavorful and well prepared.

Good drinks, friendly staff, this is an old mansion beautifully restored.

Amazing building, decent cocktails, but the music is so loud and ear piercing. There was a recorder noise that literally made the entire bar to silent, would not suggest for a date, business function or catchup as you cannot chat with your guest.

The vibe here was incredible. The service was out of this world. The food and drinks we're delightful. There was an amazing vibe in the dining room while the bar had a great DJ. Beef Wellington was amazing. The lobster risotto was delectable. Very impressive cocktails, the old fashioned was great and it was made with Angels Envy. The servers were very polite and had great manners to serve the customers. Will happily visit again.

This is my first time visit here. The decoration is very classic British retro style.for the food ,Beef Wellington is delicious.the oysters are fresh.
Next, I will talk about what I am not satisfied with.for the food, the lobster risotto is really salty.for the service is really so so, Ordinary and indifferent,this kind of service is not suitable for a restaurant of this level.for the bill ,the tip is still after tax.if I’m not wrong this is violates Quebec's latest consumer regulations. This kind of place is suitable for the upper class to show off if they are not smart.

Went to Bar George for their elegant & chic aesthetic but also their simple yet delicious sounding lunch menu.

Seated at the bar, the place is really nicely decorated and gives and “old money” type of vibe.

We ordered the Hamburger and a Butler Steak.
Both took a little bit of time to be served but they were both absolutely worth the wait. They looked, smelled and tasted amazing, but the buns on the burger weren’t strong enough to keep the Hamburger together, but we still enjoyed it nonetheless!

Awesome staff. No flaws. (Shoutout to Jonathan at the bar, thank you for the on-the-house Espresso! You’re awesome.)

100% will come back for Dinner!

I had an amazing dining experience! The food was exceptional; especially the Beef Wellington, which was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Service was impressively fast, and our waiter Zachery was an absolute delight. He recommended the perfect dessert and was incredibly accommodating with my non-alcoholic drink requests. His friendly and attentive service really elevated the experience. Highly recommend this place, trust me, you won’t be disappointed!

I came with my brother who I was separated at birth from, for our first meeting. It was extremely dark, needed a flashlight. It took 2 hours for arrival of 4 cold dishes, the most unflavoured boiled vegetables. I have never had such flavourless vegetables. Our drinks sat empty the entire evening. I’ve never talked to a manager before, that was scary. Keep Britain out of Quebec.

Very chic and stylish bar. Reservation required. Great old building with a lot of flair. Very good cocktails.
The doorman will show you (if you're nice) through the upper rooms - you should see it!

I absolutely love this place! I highly recommend making a reservation for the weekend brunch.

Service is impeccable, and the food is outstanding. At our table, my wife had the halloumi and avocado on toast, our friends had the full English and eggs bendict with bacon, and I had the eggs benedict with their house made black pudding (pictured). Coffees and ceasars rounded out the meals. Everything was divine.

A big thanks to our server, Lena, for her smashing attention to detail and professionalism. Our next trip to Montreal will definitely include a return.

My boyfriend and I came to celebrate our 10year anniversary here and we did not regret it at all. The service was fantastic and our waiter advised us superbly. The food was a great and delicious.
