Bar George

Went to Bar George on our last night in Montreal. After almost a week of French inspired food, it was a nice change of pace.

While not entirely British it was different than other most restaurants we'd visited.

For an appetizer, we had a half dozen oysters. Small but very fresh and tasty.

The Beef Wellington was amazing! My wife ordered this and she thought it on par with Gordon Ramsey's she'd had a Hell's Kitchen in Miami.

I had Lobster Risotto which was very good and our son had Halibut which he also enjoyed.

Service was top notch and the ambiance was very nice. We had a couple get engaged at the table next to us. It's that kind of place.

Beautiful interior is the biggest selling point in my opinion. Food is also delicious; we had beef willing ton and lobster risotto. The price was just a bit too much for what it is.

Very refined Halibut meal & chocolate dessert. I can't imagine any meals not being extra delicious in this establishment. I will be back for more.

Deceiving experience. Went for the brunch. They were clearly understaffed and the server really tried his best. I got my plate before my drinks. The food is ok but not worth the price. Not original nor tasty enough for the price.

The Maître D was sitting inside in a corner on his cell; barely saw him helping the staff.
The floor was dirty inside which I also attributed to the lack of staff.

The place is really beautiful but even the clerks at the main door didn’t event greet me or anyone who came after me. Sounds to me like a lack of staff and lack of training for them.
2 stars because the hostess and server were nice and did their best.
