I recently hosted a networking event at Le Confessional, and it was a great experience. The place has this laid-back, unpretentious vibe but manages to have tons of character. The music was spot on - just the right level to keep the energy going without drowning out conversations. The bartenders were friendly and welcoming making us feel like we’d been regulars forever - a shout out to Bash! Loved the relaxed, effortlessly cool night out. Already planning to come back for the nightclub vibes soon!

Located at the edge of Old Port, I really like how un-pretentious this place is compared to some of the other places in this part of the city (shots directly fired at the snobs @ Velvet Speakeasy). No cover, no stern security, no bottle requirements - just come in and have a good time. To be expected of the area, drinks are pricy. But this also filters the crowd to mid 20's to early 30's, which is nice as so many places in Montreal are overrun by younger crowds. The DJ's that play here are quality, they play a great variety of music and know their urban hits well. Seeing a lot of complaints on the bar service in comments and I can't say that's been my experience, I've received pretty good service here overall. Can be a bit of a wait at peak times though. Only real weakness of this place is how limited the space is. In combination with how lax they are on entry, the place gets unbearably crowded at times. The dancefloor is quite narrow, it's located in the middle of the DJ booth, both bars and the way to the washroom. So if you try dancing there you are constantly dealing with people trying to move past you or just in someone's personal space. Overall this is one of my favourite places to party in the Old Port.

I arrived at the bar yesterday May 31st after a 10 hour shift in a bar, I just want a double vodka soda at 1AM, but the curly haired blonde behind the bar decided she didn't like me (never been there of my life again) and made it his mission for the evening not to serve me...? To the point of ignoring me for 30 minutes, telling the other bartenders not to serve me and that the new customers arrived before me!? It was really personal, never seen that. Too bad, really embarrassing for her because I would have given her plenty of cash tips from the evening... I imagine it has something to do with the insecurity she feels inside. Strongly advise against

My friend's hair caught fire because the candles were placed on high tables and the place was crowded, so she had no choice but to press against the table to let people pass. Fortunately, she quickly noticed this and was able to put the laziness to rest. No staff member helped or showed any interest when we alerted them. They just told us it wasn't their fault, when we just wanted them to be careful to avoid this happening again with other people. This happened a few years ago, I hope you take more precautions today, because it could have ended very badly.
