Tous les plats étaient délicieux, mais mention spéciale à la lotte et au canard. Dans les 2 cas, les sauces sont tout simplement divines! Un service hors pair avec Olivier qui nous faisait profiter de ses explications toujours justes et précises sur les plats et les vins que nous avons eus.

Incredible tasting menu, took me just enough out of my comfort zone to make it a memorable experience. Delicious and unique drink list. Suggested wine was a great pairing. Overall an outstanding evening with great service. Even though we were the last people in the restaurant, we were never made to feel like we overstayed our welcome or that we had to rush. Highly recommended, this place truly deserves its spot in Canada's Top 100 restaurants.

Not sure about the value. Service is good, the staff are professional and caring - and the venue itself is very warm, welcoming and they have a great vibe. It seems Bar St Denis has been ambitious in the concept they are trying to build but are missing some of the fundamentals. The dishes were well presented but the majority had little taste. Some dishes were too cold and had very muted flavours and others were missing real balance in flavours (too salty, too oily, too acid etc..). This would be perfectly fine if the cost of the dishes were not so significant compared to what you received - so the value isn't quite there. Unfortunately it's hard to see myself going back.

Really enjoyed my visit here. The ambiance is lovely, and I loved the open-concept kitchen—it adds a lot of energy to the space. One thing to note though: the lighting is very bright earlier in the evening, so personally I wouldn’t pick this spot for a first date (unless you’re going for fully-lit, no-mystery vibes). A heads-up for anyone booking: we were told that with a reservation, you’re expected to order at least two plates per person. The portions are smaller and designed for sharing, so it makes sense, but it’s definitely good to know going in. Food-wise, highlights were the razor clams and tabbouleh—both tasted super fresh and vibrant. The labneh was great too, and the bread that came with it was good, but we definitely needed more bread to match the labneh-to-bread ratio. We also ordered the fries, which were a really generous portion, and the duck, which was delicious (slightly on the salty side) but worked really well with the mushrooms. We finished with a couple seafood pasta dishes—light overall, but the seafood really shone. Overall, the price-to-quality ratio feels solid, and we had a great time trying a bunch of dishes. Would recommend if you want to try something new!

Went there tonight with friends and the service was the slowest I ever experienced. We had to fill our own glasses of wine, no bucket of ice, and had to ask for more water at least 3 times during the night.
The food was bland at best and way overpriced for the lack of flavor and creativity from the cooks.
Will never go back and would definitely never recommend this place to anyone.

For the second year in a row, we spent thanksgiving in Montreal. For the second year in a row, we celebrated at @barstdenis. And for the second year in a row, we had an absolutely wonderful meal. Bar St Denis is one of those places where the joy and warmth of those cooking and serving the food is both apparent and contagious. True hospitality can’t be faked, and they have it in spades. Bravo.
Oh, and the food is SPECTACULAR - thoughtful, playful, referential without being unoriginal.
