I’ve been here multiple times in the past and had a good experience.
This time was horrible.
I got a hair in my plate and didn’t say anything about it…
My girlfriend got some tea and somehow they left a plastic cover in her tea pot the whole time which we found out at the end after opening it. Not sure how that can happen.
When we asked for ketchup and mayo we got a plate with opened ketchup packages and food crumbles. Disgusting.
All we got at the end was sorry and 15% off the bill. Apparently the hostess was new, which excuses leaving a plastic takeout cover in a tea pot and getting some nasty ketchup packs.
We still had to pay them for giving us plastic contaminated water, hair in food and disgusting ketchup.
If you go there double check your stuff since the employees really don’t care. 15% off is a joke we should of not pay for such an experience. Horrible place.

I was meeting two good friends here on a Sunday. A day earlier I was told they don't take reservations which is OK. But this greeter woman at the door also told me coldly to stand aside because the full party had not arrived. She was unfriendly, unsympathetic, cold and her tone was like she didn't want to be there nor cared about even a little smile towards customers to make them feel welcome. I never had any brunch restaurant refuse a table to me when I was waiting to meet friends. I felt as if I didn't matter to her as a customer. It was also crowded, so I was anxious to find a table. One of my friends spoke to the manager and told him these same things, and she too noticed how unfriendly the greeter was. I was incensed and we gladly went to another nicer brunch competitor. I have been here before at least 2-3 times. The decor is average, mostly walls and concrete. The food is good, but service is 50% of the experience in a restaurant! The management there obviously doesn't select their greeters with personal skills in mind! Never again, and the same goes for my friends! The Ben and Florentine at Marché de l'ouest has much MUCH nicer staff.

Really bad service
Food wasn't good

Very busy breakfast spot; offering discounted breakfast specials before 8:30am. The service was nice, pleasant and speedy. Ordered eggs with crispy bacons. The potatoes were not as crunchy as other branches. The dining environment is smoky. It’s nice to have a B & F in downtown that opens early.

You will walk out with a bacon smell & a higher risk of coronary artery diseases.

You order the daily special with a vegetarian dish called “Grilled vegetable & goat cheese wrap” and when the waiter says “replacing fries (unhealthy) for a salad costs $2.25” I wonder who runs the menu in this place. First and last visit. Unbelievable
Note: waitress did a cracking job on her first week so merited a tip regardless
Vegetarian options: A joke - avoid at all times

Came here once and it was great. This was my 2nd time and the potatoes were cold and hard. Theyre a bit cheap on the sauce with the poutine also.

The service was good , the waitresses checked-in all the time, but the food was disappointing. I'm not sure if it's only their seasonal beef special options, but it was flavorless. My poached eggs were completely hard cooked. The sauce is tasteless, sad.
The best of the plates were the potatoes and the fruit. Maybe try other options.

Fantastic selection of brunch items, drinks, and other treats. Stopped by here while we waited for our train boarding time to hit. Love that the benny came with a side of fruit salad, really helped balance everything out. Coffee did taste a little watery but I came here for the food not the coffee. Everything was reasonably priced, and the wait staff was very attentive.

I often cant decide between sweet and savory breakfast items, and here you dont need to. Its nice to get a sweet crepe, toast, eggs, bacon/sausage, etc. all in one order, but just make sure you are hungry!
The poached egg on the eggs benedict was unfortunately cold, like it was prepared in advance and saved until serving. The other eggs were good, as were the potatoes and meats. Waffle was standard. Coffee and tea are included with of if the menu items.
The crepes are quite thick here—personally I prefer them thinner.
Overall I would recommend B&F for breakfast and brunch, especially with the big portion sizes and variety within orders
