Place is desolate and in the middle of an identity crisis inside, but the food is bomb, really good

Went to order food at 8:15, buddy had closed up completely despite your hours saying 9pm on your storefront and website.

The roti is so tasty and it filled me up. My fiancé had the jerk chicken and it was flavourful. We are going there again. It is clean and the people who work there are very nice and friendly.

Yesterday we went to try Boom J’s Cuisine on Boul. Monk. I usually went to the one in Pointe St-Charles. We had the boneless chicken roti. Excellent! Tasty and very generous portion. However, I was very disappointed with the service from Jackie who doesn't speak a word of French. No hello, thank you and no effort on his part. I would have really liked a little effort on his part. To be considered, please. Thank you. The employee who was with her spoke French and asked her to make an effort. There was none.☹️

Their jerk chicken is flavorless and the portion is way too small for the price the only thing I like getting there are their patties and they’re not even made by them I feel like they have a big problem with reheating food and that makes their food really bland even the patties that I just talked about which they buy frozen and heat them in store, one time I bought got 2 beef patties and somehow they were like expired and were straight blocks with dangerous tasting meat so I think they just reheated them multiple days in a row and the people working there are not professionnal

Have a snack with Jamaican dishes. Excellent dishes with well-marinated spices. Jamaican pâtés to take away and drinks. Nice little atmosphere and the service is friendly!

Ive been there about 3 to 4 times now. The first few times the food was ok. I usually get chicken roti. I only go here because my usual spot for chicken roti is a bit far from my house. But the last time i went, what a horrible experience. There was one person working. An indian guy. He had the most stank looking attitude on his face as if i was doing a disservice to him by being there.Took my chicken roti home and was dissapointed. It was flavourless, dry, and im not even sure if the protein was chicken. If it was. It was old. Didnt seem fresh.Anyway. Not going back there. Ill drive 45 minutes out of my way to go to my usual spot. Who wants to pay for bad service and bad food.

READ THIS BEFORE ORDERING!I ordered a meal of ackee and saltfish in October 2023. I was visiting Montreal and wanted some yaad food.Important note: the staff in the shop were Indian. Not Caribbean Indian, but Indians from India. The service was abysmal. I entered the shop, nobody there. I waited 5 minutes before I had to shout to the kitchen to get service. That was the first red flag I ignored but when is service ever sharp in a yaad food shop? The fridge shelf had caved in and there were broken drinks everywhere, the shelf had jammed itself inwards so I couldn't reach in and grab a drink. Red flag 2.When the guy serving came to the front, I asked if they served fried fish and bammy and he replied, "what is bammy?"Red flag 3 and tied to my important note as any Jamaican would not have to ask.The total came to $30 and when I went to pay, the option to tip came up and I declined. The look on the mans face... why would I leave a tip before the food even reach mi mouth? Red flag 4He then took 10 minutes to bag up the food, moving slow like seh MoBay sun ah lick him. Red flag 5The food itself was inedible and truth be told from all the red flags I ignored, I deserved it. The plantain was not cooked, the saltfish was bland (?????) and I daren't even try the ackee becah mi nuh waan drop dead and shame up meself even more.Do not be like me. Do not waste your money and time on the WORST yaad food I have ever come across. How can you not cook plantain?????? 2 months later and still mi vex kmt.
