Amazing brunch. It's cheaper like the monst, but is really good service and taste.
And the place on summer is really nice.

Fanfare was one of the first places I fell in love with in the area. The one girl who used to work there 6 years ago was amazing in every way, friendly, hard working and made you feel welcome. She worked there for 2 years but then left. After, I felt the service was slowly going down hill.

Don’t get me wrong the food is absolutely amazing here, the quality in that regard hasn’t changed. But the service here can be awful. I will not put a blanket statement on everyone but when it comes to brunch most especially is what I’m referencing.

I’ve went to brunch on 2 occasions recently without a reservation. I was seated with no issue but was left without any water, menu, any attention for a half hour. The first time I just up and left since I had no idea when I would get served, and went across the street for breakfast. I went again another day and figured maybe it was a fluke, they were just busy but lo and behold it happened again. I waited it out this time and timed it to be 40m without anyone coming up to me.

It’s obvious if you don’t have a reservation you’re treated like second class. And I get it, it’s a busy place but it’s a very simple thing to just tell folks that it may be a little bit before they are served and maybe give them some water and a menu.

It makes me sad just because I love this place, but I’ve found other brunch places in the area that will treat you well and have equally as good food.

I have gone with a reservation and the service was ok but nothing stellar, obviously much better than just walking in. Just be wary if you go in without a reservation! Otherwise it’s worth a visit if you plan to make a reservation or just stop in for something quick.

Such a great atmosphere! Food was so great!!! We ordered an array of drinks and shared 3 plates - the Brie-Egg dish, the salmon salad dish, croque madam and both flavours of the French toast! Everything so good! Cooked to perfection and great flavour profiles! The atmosphere was light and friendly - we had the best time catching up and enjoying! The staff - super friendly and accommodating; 10s across the board!

We went to try Fanfare in the Villeray neighborhood, where there seem to be more and more great restaurants to discover. Our brunch was simple, made with fresh local ingredients, yet full of good flavor. Since it’s also a bakery, we couldn’t resist picking up some viennoiserie to enjoy at home. A cozy spot worth visiting if you’re in the area.

I want to love this place but the sandwiches are incredibly dry. Last time I had one, the server could tell while I was eating it that I was not enjoying it and offered to toast it for me, which I accepted. Unfortunately it did not help and it was still pretty disgusting. The coffee here is good but be prepared to pay $8+. I stopped getting breakfast here and now I go to Corvette across the street which has huge breakfasts for $10. Other cafes nearby are better for take out as well such as Cafe Pinocchio and Ferlucci, they are also more integrated into and loved by the Villeray community.
One redeeming gesture of this place is that it’s occasionally dog friendly, it depends on who’s working there on the day. Some baristas are happy to see my dog and welcome us but one even told me to tie my dog up outside which is illegal in Montreal! I come to get take out coffee here sometimes when the nice staff are working.

Food was amazing as usual although the service was pretty terrible. It’s disappointing because it makes me not want to go back just cause of the slow and unfriendly waiters!

We were visiting from Ontario, its small and intimate but quite loud. Good service, minimal English but they were amazing at accommodating.

Such a chilled little place. Sat out front, I really enjoyed the view. Recommend the boréal pan doré!! Also, they seem to do latte specials each week. This week's was caramel banana... scrumptious!

The food was really good. FANTASTIC PORTIONS. The staff 10/10. Just didn’t love the space itself, felt too crowded. But overall, very tasty and nice

Very simple little place, the food is simple but very good, also great laté. But note that it is small when there is no terrace so it is better to book.

Disappointed.
Lack of friendliness on the part of the server and above all expeditious service.
We had a reservation at 11:30 a.m. and at 12:20 p.m. the waiter came and asked us to quickly vacate the table for the next reservation which was at 12:30 p.m. Review your reservation system because the reservation confirmation indicated a reservation from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.!
If I wanted to eat on the go, I would have gone elsewhere.
The bakery is probably very good but my experience does not leave me with lasting memories.
