I used to go to Maison du Cari. Sometimes the food was dry and since I saw 2 ants in my plate I banished this restaurant for eternity. Someone told me to go to Spicee instead. I never regretted. Clean and fresh food all the time.
Visited here on a return trip with my 14yr old to show him my go to spot for patties and Rock cake back in the 90's. Sadly though the patties aren't the same anymore but I'm happy to say the rock cake is just as good as I remember, you can still smell the aroma of them baking in back of the store just like I remember as a kid growing up. This is a must stop for me to grab a few packs of rock cake to take back to Toronto.
Grew up with Jamaican beef patties since the mid 80s. Mr. Spicee's is one of the OG ones. Sure, over the years the shape of the patties changed (going from handmade to machine and slight recipe changes), but the taste is pretty much the same. They used to make them with real lard and the dough was flakier, but over the years they moved to healthier ingredients. But if you want original taste and flavor, you wont find anything better than mr Spicee's. Do not buy beef...
