The food, was underwhelming. It felt dated and lacked the freshness or creativity one might expect from a fine dining experience. I’ve had far better Italian cuisine in much more casual settings, which made this all the more disappointing.
That said, the terrace was truly beautiful. For a few hours, it genuinely felt like we’d stepped out of Montreal. But the food brought you back to constant disappointment.

Il Cortile is the real deal. The food is always excellent, the service is sharp, and the atmosphere makes you want to stay all night. Dino runs a tight ship and his staff know how to treat people right—you feel welcome without any of the fake stuff you get at other places. It’s consistent, it’s classy, and it’s the kind of spot you can count on every time. I definitely recommend it.

I’ve been to Il Cortile a couple of times and it’s always a great experience! Last week, I organized a dinner for my cousin’s bridal shower and we really loved the service we were given by our waiter James. He made sure we were having a great time and that we enjoyed the food! Highly recommend this hidden gem, the atmosphere is amazing.

I came here to celebrate my close friend and loved the service. Our waiter, James, was the sweetest person ever. He made our entire experience even better. I have contemplated coming here for weeks, after seen social media posts.
I had high expectations and we finally came today. Unlike the pictures posted in social media, the open terrasse is very small, no fans, no air...hard to breathe.
Service was mediocre, I mean really mediocre.
We waited 1 hour or more for our meals,.during which time I poured whine in my glass my self.
We got my son's filet Mignon with sauce, not as we ordered so we send this to back to the kitchen, the second take came way too cooked and we return it to the kitchen again.
Their pasta is definitely not home made regular supermarket pasta, nothing to it.
Unfortunately the pancakes came with additional dressing, a nice hair in the center of them.
I'm sure my experience was unlike others, never the less, I wouldn't go back for any reason.

Literally a hidden gem! A fantastic Italian restaurant in downtown Montreal. Most of the tables in an alleyway and decorated with lots of flower. The food are very authentic.
Food was very good. Service was very, very slow. There is a nice outdoor patio.

My husband and I recently held our wedding reception here, and it exceeded all of our expectations. We were thoroughly impressed with the exceptional service provided by the entire staff, and we would highly recommend this venue for any special event—it is truly worth every penny.
Dalwim, our main server, was outstanding. He helped coordinate every detail, allowing me—as the bride—to simply enjoy the evening without stress. His professionalism, attentiveness, and poise throughout the event were remarkable.
The staff went above and beyond to ensure our night was perfect. From providing a larger speaker for music, to beautifully serving our wedding cake, explaining the menu, setting up a TV last minute, and catering to every request—we felt genuinely cared for.
This was a last-minute reservation after our original venue unexpectedly closed, but the general manager responded promptly, secured our booking, and personally showed us the private room to make sure our vision could come to life. The food is amazing and I could have asked for anything more.
