CASH ONLY. The coffee was good and the chais are made in house. The pumpkin spice is made with real pumpkin and a bit sweeter. The chai is a bit spicier than sweet. I ordered a decaf coffee with soy milk.
The barista/ owner was nice to offer me a try of the chais when stock was low.
The location itself is pretty empty. Just a thin seat on the wall inside and one outside in the front. More of a place to grab and go rather than sit and enjoy.

Is you're looking for 3rd wave coffee this place is not it. Or at least not in my experience. Had a flat white and it tasted very mediocre, nothing of note, maybe a little bit bitter.

When asked for coffee drinks recommendation, I specified I'm looking for flavor, I was recommended a pumping spice latte...

In terms of service, would have preferred if I was asked if it was to go or for here. Batista assumed it was to go. Coffee tastes better out of something other than a paper cup.

You also can just say regular milk, you don't need to say cow milk. If you are keen on being specific then say "cow milk or oat extract". Be consistent, otherwise you just sound like a douche.

The good: the coffee art was nice, good choice of coffee machine.

Overall experience 2/5 would not go out of my way to come back. I wanted to give 3 but I had higher expectation from a specialty coffee place in terms of taste, vibe, and service

I’ve been a customer of Odessa’s for a long while now as I work in the area, but I fear my patronage may be coming to a slow end. Ive justified the relatively high prices as all the employees are so pleasant and the coffee tends to be wonderful, imo. Recently, however, I ordered an iced dirty chai. The owner started making it before charging me and once it had been prepared, they kept it on their side of the counter top, tucked away next to the espresso machine. I wasn’t handed my drink after it was prepared, which is pretty unusual in Montreal. Then, the owner preceded to recite the cost of every component of my drink and rang it up to $10.01. I hesitantly passed the owner my $10 bill and started rummaging, in shock, for a couple quarters for a tip. An espresso alone is $3.50. Ice is $1. I knew the drink would be expensive, as I’ve ordered it several times in the past- the price always changes, but it’s usually $7-9. It has never been $10, and usually employees inform me of its hefty price before it’s prepared- I think to spare each of us of the trouble of 1) preparing a drink that someone can’t afford and 2) feeling pressured to pay for a drink that has already been prepared. To make matters more uncomfortable, the coffee was far from within my physical reach, leaving me with the impression that it was intentionally placed there in case I was uncomfortable with the steep price, or in anticipation of me leaving without paying ? It’s okay if someone wants to charge $10 for a coffee. It’s okay if people can’t afford it. Part of having an accessible business, however, is being transparent and letting customers make informed decisions for themselves.

Coffee specialties, there are a few seats inside and a few runners to accompany the coffee. This café is located in a very beautiful area of Montreal.

Coffee is good, but it's very strange that I order the same thing but each time I got different prices. I can't even choose to give the tips or not, because the barista just selected it for me without asking me.

Great vibes and great coffee. Fairly sparse interior and not setup as a “laptop” space so know that going in.

Very good coffee.
However, a place that lacks cleanliness, there is also a surprising smell of mold when you go inside.
I also find it insulting that the payment machine only offers a 20% tip when making purchases.

Overpriced, overhyped, and overrated.Their latte is basically hot milk, there is barely any coffee in it. If you like coffee, avoid this place. There are much better coffee spots on Beaubien.

After a hard day, I decided to go to a coffee shop. I was interested in this particular coffee shop because I often pass by it. in general, at first everything was fine, until the moment when the barista decided to shake me out of tips. This conversation was polite enough, but after it I was haunted by the feeling of guilt that she seemed to be trying to impose on me. Cafe owners, please raise the salaries of the employees so that they do not scare away customers with such behavior. Don’t shift the responsibility for paying your staff to your clients.
