I was invited to a latte art class at Café Saint-Henri—and let me tell you, it was the perfect blend of cozy vibes and cool coffee culture.

The space? Absolutely gorgeous. Spacious and minimalist, with plenty of natural light, sleek stone surfaces, and just enough greenery to keep things feeling fresh. It’s the kind of café where you can truly settle in—whether you’re solo-working, catching up with a friend, or (like me) trying your hand at some latte art.

For the class, we used their Holy Cow Guatemalan espresso blend—and wow. Smooth and complex, with notes of caramel, black cherry, and cocoa that linger beautifully. Honestly? I’d drink it straight—no milk needed.

I’m definitely heading back soon to explore the rest of their menu.

I spotlight my favorite local gems on TikTok @foxy.appetite and IG @foxyappetite—and this one made the list.

Café Saint-Henri in Villeray is a solid choice for good coffee. The atmosphere is pleasant, making it a nice place to relax or get some work done. Friendly staff. What really stands out is their selection of coffee beans. I highly recommend buying a bag and grinding them at home , it's definitely worth it for a consistently excellent cup of coffee ☕

Recently visited this coffee shop that truly stood out. The space is beautifully decorated, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The attention to detail in the design adds to the experience, making it more than just a coffee stop. Great place to relax and enjoy a quality cup of coffee!

I’ve been coming here for a couple of years now and need to say it’s really starting to go downhill. The tables are often dirty, the service is often slow, the food menu is unreliable, and a lot of the tables and chairs are falling apart to the point of being hard to use. I miss the way this cafe used to be. On top of all this, they haven’t made the very simple modification of a handrail on the stairs at the front door to help with accessibility.

I tried the fall season matcha and lattes and highly recommend them.

I sincerely recommend this cafe! Their Moka is absolutely divine!
Although the service is often slow, I love coming to this café. It’s ideal for working or just coming to chat with friends. Good address in Mile End.

Small cappuccino and a croissant for $10. The coffee was bitter and the croissant from at least the day before. The interior is nice, classic industrial hipster style. For good coffee, which is ultimately the most important thing, I will go elsewhere next time.

I never leave negative comments, but I felt it necessary to highlight the lack of respect and courtesy of an employee. I go to the café every week, since I live a few minutes walk away. I love their coffee and make sure to always praise it (I even buy their beans for my machine). Unfortunately, I won't go anymore because of an employee. At the tennis tournament, several customers were in front of the barista, which prevented me from hearing the order she had just called out (or should I say, whispered). So I kindly asked if this was my cherry latte. She told me she didn't remember (?!? even though she had just done it) in the most unpleasant and rude tone. So I told her thank you and have a nice day, and she looked at me completely with disdain and frustration. When I pay $9 for my coffee (with tip), I expect a minimally decent level of service. To the owners, I recommend training in courtesy and respect for employees; especially to your barista who was working at 10:30 a.m. on August 4, 2024.

Love this place, great ambiance and relaxed vibe. The drip coffee is always amazing. Wishing they would put cold brew on the menu, as I find the flash brew a bit watery.

Really nice place near the park. The matcha is strong and tastes great. There is enough room between tables. Music is present, but not too loud. They also have a nice selection of pastries and some premade salads etc.
