We came with friends for lunch. The café offers a diverse choice of drinks and snacks. First disappointment: the soup displayed is not available. So I order a grilled cheese, the 2 slices of the sandwich come out raw from the toaster which doesn't seem to shock the waitress. When I noticed, she suggested that I put the crispy sandwich in the microwave! Second pass through the toaster not much more conclusive. So I eat a sandwich of white bread poorly garnished with 2 slices of raw cheese, and unmelted fat... all this after a very long wait, the waitress seeming overwhelmed in front of 5 coffees.However, a good discovery of hot maple drinks (chai latte and latte).

Mon expérience dans ce café a été sérieusement entachée par le comportement choquant et déplorable de la dame âgée qui travaillait à la caisse le vendredi 23/02/2024 a 9:30. Son manque de politesse et de professionnalisme a non seulement gâché mon expérience, mais a également reflété très mal sur l'établissement dans son ensemble. J'espère sincèrement que des mesures seront prises pour remédier à cette situation, car je suis profondément déçu et peu enclin à revenir dans ces conditions.

The lady doesn’t understand English. She is really rude. She is not good with touristic environment. She doesn’t do her role. which is cashier. Other lady who make something is kind. but not cashier. If you search Cafe van Houtte, you'll find at least 3 cafes with versions of name. Are they modifying the name so that the bad reviews of one doesn't reflect on the other?The coffee's not great and the sandwiches aren't either. The prices are outrageous and the bathroom was filthy. The Middle Eastern server is very abrupt & doesn't have any idea of how to talk to people, especially older women. I didn't have a problem with him. When they're a little off-putting, I let it go. (I went to a college that had a lot of middle easterners studying petroleum engineering. They were all abrupt with women, with variations depending on the country and whether they were a prince or not. You learn to not to take the badgering personally. I felt really sorry for this lady as she kept asking something . He just kept repeating the same thing loudly while clearly not answering her question. She was timidly and politely trying to inquire about something, but he didn't have any patience with. I don't think she ever got what she wanted.If you have a thick skin, it's near your office, and you have a lot of money to blow on substandard food and coffee, this is the place for you.
