I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the appalling level of service I recently experienced with Rakotta. My encounter with your company has left me utterly disappointed and disillusioned. First and foremost, despite multiple attempts to follow up on a simple request to change the time for an apartment viewing, I received absolutely no response from your team. This blatant disregard for customer communication is utterly unacceptable and demonstrates a complete lack of professionalism and respect for potential clients. To make matters worse, when I finally arrived at the 1555 Rene Lèvesque property, the individual present demonstrated a shocking level of incompetence and rudeness. Not only did they fail to acknowledge my presence, but when they finally deigned to speak, it was in a loud and dismissive manner that was both unprofessional and deeply offensive. Frankly, I am appalled by the utter lack of basic customer service skills displayed by your company. It is clear that Rakotta has no regard for its clients' time, needs, or dignity. In light of this egregious behavior, I will be taking my business elsewhere and will be sure to share my horrific experience with friends, family, and anyone else considering dealing with Rakotta. Consider this my formal complaint and a warning to all potential clients: steer clear of Rakotta if you value even the slightest modicum of respect and professionalism.
If you are planning to live in Montreal and are looking for an apartment, I recommend renting an apartment at Dorchester Collection, which is located in the heart of Montreal. From this place, Mont-Royal Park or Notre-Dame Basilic is just a 20-minute walk away or 5 minutes by metro. If you are a student like me, Concordia University is just one block away, and McGill University is a five-minute subway ride away. Close to the Dorchester Collection apartments, you will find plenty of restaurants for delicious food, stores on Saint Catherine Street and clubs. However, the most important thing happens in the building because your rent includes a gym, swimming pool (available all year round, even in Winter), study room and comfort facilities. Finally, the building team is incredible, wonderful, and friendly people ready to help you. I am currently a tenant and only have good references for the Dorchester Collection family.
We had a 10:30 pm reservation and though we enjoyed the experience it really seemed like the wait staff was trying to rush us through our meal. The petite filet needs to note that they wrap it with bacon. Not a huge fan of the pork taste infused with my beef. The mashed potatoes are not actually mashed but petite potatoes that are lightly smushed. The Brussel sprouts we great and the Oysters were top notch though they need to saltines upon request. Overall a very good meal and evening.
I was told that La Queue de Cheval was the best steak house in Montreal and I would have to agree. There are many great steakhouses in Montreal and I have been to many from Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto to Las Vegas and this ranks as one of the best. Service from Nickolas and the staff was attentive, but not overbearing and never an empty wine or water glass. Some great recommendations as for cuts of beef and sides to choose from and that would compliment our dinner and the chopping board idea of putting our different steaks sliced up so all of us could sample a variety of cuts was a spectacular idea. They bring the beef to your table to show you the ones they will cook up for you and it looked amazing before it even hits the grill. If you want to impress someone or taking business clients out and show your appreciation this is the perfect restaurant to bring them. The location is close to the hotel we stayed at and the Bell Centre is walking distance as well as several parking lots nearby. The restaurant is on three full levels and looks like a roof top patio in the summer. This will be one of my new favorites in Montreal! Thank you La Queue de Cheval.
Queue de Cheval is clearly the best place for a high end piece of steak. They have A5 as well as 60day aged steaks, only one other steakhouse in Montreal has that. The side for the steaks are amazing and well priced. Where this restaurant falls short is loud dance music, obnoxious staff that scream to each other and lack of refined service for a $90 steak restaurant. The wine list was disappointing as well, a decent bottle is at least $200 so the mark up is over three times and they lack a mix of well priced along with the high end bottles. Overall amazing steaks and sides, but you'll pay over $400 for two people for an ok evening, not romantic and I wouldn't have a business dinner there either. The only type of evening that works well would be a guys' evening.
I had stumbled upon Queue de Cheval many years ago, and was very impressed with the food and atmosphere. It quickly became my go to destination, when traveling to Montreal. I learned, during this past visit, that they had moved to a new location. While the experience was still very good, it was not quite the same as before. The restaurant seems smaller than it was. They didn't bring around the cart, with food selections, as before. It was quite empty (we did visit on a Monday). Overall a great restaurant, but missing some of the old charm.
Overly familiar waiter was actually intrusive. He inserted himself into a conversation that he thought was about the restaurant that was about a business in another city and was none of his business. He was overly pushy on his meal suggestions leading me to wonder if he knew something about inventory issues hat he wasn't saying. The food was excellent as always. It is a top notch steakhouse. But this was my least favourite trip to the restaurant. I almost felt bullied by the end of the night.
ive been to this restraunt 20+ times and tonight they missed the mark, service is amazing as alwyas but I ordered my porterhouse med/med rare, it came out blue rare and cold, the bite i had unfortunately threw the rest of my meal off and my company's steak was blue rare as well both had to be sent back for a reheat with was satisfactory at best, host sent some drinks but even the sides were not great, the cook didnt deliver on groups meal but I will probally return in future to see if it was a 1 off day or not
Excellent food. Excellent service, although on this night, we felt a little lonely since it was a quiet night. However, we enjoyed our meal and the server described the food appropriately and helped to make recommendations catered to our requests.

The room is beautiful however the entire space smelled of cigars. Possibly a cigar lounge upstairs? If so it's poorly ventilated. We had three different people serving us and none of them seemed to communicate well with the others. We were asked what we would like to drink before receiving menus. The music was VERY loud. The FOH manager had a sour look on his face the whole time and he could be heard cursing at the kitchen staff and his runners (open kitchen). We also heard our waiter curse while he was at the service station. We were sat right by the stairs even though there were plenty of open tables - we even made a reservation - so there was LOTS of foot traffic going by our table, including staff physically moving tables over our heads from upstairs to downstairs in the middle of dinner service. The food was really good - but a bit overpriced. I expect premium steaks to come at a high price tag, but I don't feel we got value for our dollar. The whole experience was very weird. I wouldn't go back.
Walked in and was it was with a warm welcome . Seated in the front and greeted by great server's. Met Pete and was also welcomed warm almost like family. Are meal was made perfect and outstanding . I would say that our dinner was not dull and food poor. Excellent through and through . Thanks Pete and the staff for the top notch service. We wish you a Merry Christmas from our house to you all. Thank Pelletiers from Windsor Ontario.
Too loud, wine was way overpriced and "conveniently" they didn't have the cheapest option on the wine list. There was a body hair on the tablecloth and servers kept bumping our chairs. The food was ok, the sea bass lacked flavor. I will not be returning.
Always a fantastic food experience Staff very attentive from the hello hug, many handshakes, and top notch quality service! 10 of us and we ordered a family style meal with 2 platters of 3 different steak types all cook to perfection. Yes we were hungry!! Worth it!!! Back on Tuesday with another regroup!!
I made the reservation two weeks in advance. Told them it was my wife's birthday. I was a bit disappointed that they chose a table next to the bathroom way in the back. So even though food and service was good my expectations with the experience were a little disappointing.
