We accidentally discovered it as it is off the main street. The place is decent. We tried their Americano and Macchiato. Americano was more like an Espresso shot. Way too strong . Macchiato was okay. Didn't really like the ambiance. The place is cash only. There's street parking outside which would have some spots available but otherwise adjacent streets will have some spots available.Won't really repeat this as there are more amazing shops nearby.Parking: Parking is free after 9PM on weekdays.

A spring day in the middle of winter. The temperature is around 8 degrees and, as I leave my home, I am greeted by a swarm of starlings chirping happily. It’s noon and I have an appointment with my friend at J’ai Feng at 1:30 p.m.; In the meantime, I stop to discover the San Simeon café which has occupied the corner of Dante and Saint-Dominique since 1979. On the sidewalk of the said corner, a group of four young people are chatting and scrutinizing the passing vehicles. Are they waiting to come home or are they waiting for someone?Along the front, other small troops of coffee consumers take advantage of the heat to chat. No doubt, the café, as in its origins, is a meeting place for the people of Little Italy. Inside, all the guests have their bodies turned towards the entrance of light, like compass needles looking north. To my right, newspaper articles and interview excerpts from famous people praising coffee catch my attention. People say great things about cappuccino, so here's my decision.I go to the counter. I am approached in English - I deduce that it is the language used by the majority of the customers, although the customer before me let out strong, well-felt Quebecois swear words as punctuation marks. The capucino is made with speed and skill before my eyes: the barista pours the milk until the foam rises above the rim of the cup. One more drop, I have the impression, and the precious liquid would overflow. Another employee arrives with a brown bag full of boxers and places some on the counter. I didn't really understand the nature of the gesture, but he seemed proud to have acquired them at a good price and offered to pass some on to the other person. He takes them back and puts them away somewhere, and I go and sit down with my drink after handing over my blue ticket and receiving change (cash only).Like the regulars, I too sit down with my nose pointed towards the door. From the back of the room I hear snatches of lively discussions from seekers of good fortune bustling around in front of the slot machines. With a touch of cinnamon and a small spoonful of sugar, I savor the delicious fragrant treasure from my cup. Once ingested, I get up and walk around looking at the exhibition of images and objects on the walls. I would have liked to chat a little with the grandson of the founder who was operating the machine that day, but, seeing him constantly in demand and me having to leave soon, I left it there, very satisfied.Vegetarian options: Yes, it's a cafe and they don't sell sandwiches there. Good luck finding meat.Parking: If you're willing to move away a bit, you can find rare free placesKid-friendliness: No, but there are pastries to keep them waiting.Wheelchair accessibility: If you have help opening the door, it can be done.

It’s a coffee shop with a great atmosphere. In winter, most of the customers are regular customers. Not only do they know the bar counter, but they also know each other. They only sell traditional Italian coffee, and there are no coffee drinks such as oat milk or almond milk. Also, they only accept cash here.
