Always a nostalgic meal at Chalet Bar-B-Q, a must-visit when we return home for comforting and familiar Montreal food, along with smoked meat and bagels, of course! The decor is dated but that is what makes it so charming. Chicken is always perfectly cooked – they are the only ones in Montreal still allowed to use charcoal, and their's is red cherrywood. It complete elevates the chicken. French fries are plentiful and perfect, especially with their nonstop supply of sauce. I want to also mention Tina, our server, who is joy personified and the most attentive waitperson imaginable. She took the best possible care of us and we left with full bellies and smiles on our faces.

We’ve come here for as long as I could remember, we did our family birthdays here when I was a kid! Although we moved away from NDG, coming back feels like home. My husband recently did a ventilation job here and even then, he was treated like family and fed very generously. This review is long due. The team and service has remained consistently amazing through the years and they still serve the best rotisserie chicken in town.
