We were seated promptly upon arrival. We were five for lunch. We all had a lovely lunch. Service was impecable, beautifully paced and we had a nice chat with the owner. I was at the cigar lounge , super classy and nice elegant environment, the place is cozy and clean , tv available and confortable chairs , small but good selection of Cuban cigars . Not bad price , feels good to have a place like this downtown . I didn’t try the food , just the cigar lounge but I’ll definitely be back for the food also :) thanks for a great start of my day

We had a lovely meal at Chez Alexandre. It was our anniversary over the weekend and they did not disappoint for our celebration. The food was excellent and timed perfectly. They provided suggestions that complimented each other and our wines. For the wines they have a lovely list and as it was something special we did splurge and they handled the wines as if it were every day (including moving us to a bit larger table to accommodate our selections. The service was all you could ask for. Our server, with one of his teammates took care of all our needs, were friendly and informative but allowed us our time and privacy. Definitely a place we'd recommend for something special, or just a perfect evening out.

The place is iconic , worth a drink and an appetizer but the main dishes are average and overpriced. My friend had the salmon tartar that tasted bad, the waiter took it back and offered the steak 🥩 tartar, which was like raw hamburger beef shredded, no taste like a real beef tartar, I had the fish and chips, I ate it but it was again the most average I ever had. I paid total $85,14 tip included for a glass of beer, a white wine 🍷 for 20$, average quality, and a fish and chips, the lunch menu seems a little better because the appetizer are included with the main dishes. But again I wonder 💭 why it’s French style but with a fast food average quality! I won’t be back for a dinner, maybe a drink and appetizer for the ambience and service.

We arrived for dinner, two minutes after our reserved time. Reservations were made, but they didn’t have many patrons, so they were hardly required. We had the pre fixed Alain special salad, steak au poivre, and a puff pastry dessert. Atmosphere was like an old school French brasserie. Only drawback was a very animated couple in the corner. The food was well prepared and we had coffee afterwards. They were pushing the turkey dinner since it was thanksgiving, but we had to decline due to my sensitivity issues.
We had heard brilliant reviews of this restaurant and we were delighted to secure a late night booking via Google for 2345 (using Libro, which the restaurant's own website uses). Frustratingly, upon arrival, we were told the kitchen closes at 2300. The staff were apologetic and said they'd notified Google of the issue, but the restaurant's website clearly states food is available until midnight (0200 close), which reflects the online booking tools, and contradicts the claim they aren't open until then. So it's clear they just closed early. Please check before you book.
