The restaurant is small and the tables are very crowded. The dishes are quite expensive. Very disappointing to pay an extra $4.50 to brown a pasta dish.

Quaint and cozy Italian resto with seating for 24. Service was a little slow… but they treated us with delicious pizza. Very generous couple and big dishes!!! The food was excellent, we had a great time and will be back!

My favorite Italian restaurant in Montreal! It is run by an Italian couple who prepare a traditional and generous menu. Prices are correct. Don't forget to bring your wine!!

They were so kind and gave use a free pizza and pineapple to finish the meal. We loved our pasta which was made on the spot by a chef in the back and loved the cozy vibe of the restaurant. We could not recommend it more!

I enjoy places with a cozy, warm and unpretentious atmosphere and Chez Di Vito has all of them. The small, brick walled dining room seats perhaps 2 dozen people, though it was only half full on the Thursday night we were there. There's a fixed menu written on a blackboard and daily specials that the friendly waitress told us about. This is pretty much an old school Italian restaurant, with all that you would expect in one; antipasti, salads, veal and eggplant Parmigiano, pastas and pizzas, etc.I had an entrée of prosciutto and meloni, which was served on a bed of lettuce, cherry tomatoes and ( a surprise for me, a sliced pickle) and a ball of mozzarella! There was a huge amount of the ham ( cut too thick in my opinion) but tasty. My friend had the house salad ( large enough for 2 people), with lettuce, tomatoes and a large slice of, I think, ricotta cheese. We were surprised when the waitress brought us a large, roasted vegetable pizza to accompany the entrées. She said it was on the house to replace the bread!Main courses were; spinach and cheese ravioli in rosée sauce for my friend and spaghetti carbonara for me. Both were tasty but the sauce for the carbonara was too thin and runny and tasted mostly of milk.Prices here are very reasonable ( from $16-$32 ) especially considering the generous portions. And this is a "bring your own wine" place so bring along a good bottle to enjoy with your meal! This is not a gourmet restaurant but the food is good, the prices are right, the portions generous, the atmosphere is warm and cozy and the staff, friendly and helpful. If you're looking for a neighbourhood restaurant to pass an enjoyable evening with a friend or friends, with a satisfying meal in a nice atmosphere, then you'll enjoy yourself at Chez Di Vito.

Never felt more uncomfortable with the service. My family and I came to this restaurant as the only asian customers.1. First of all, after we sat down and asked the waitress for some water, we waited for at least 10 minutes while she was serving and socializing with other tables. She poured water into their cups but when she came to my table, she ONYL put the water jug on our table without pouring it.2. The menu was unclear of the price and the serving size. The menu showed that the salad is around $15 but then the waitress said that we will be charged $10 per person.3. After my family ordered the food and the salad and pizza arrived, we were taken back by the portions as we didn’t know they were serving the portions based on the amount of people on the table. Therefore, we wanted to cancel a few orders. I asked the chef whether or not they already started cooking on our food and he said “no” so I requested to cancel two orders. Then he refused then said “Don’t y’all chineses eat a lot???”. I felt that the comment was really disturbing and racist. It made me feel extremely uncomfortable since we didn’t want to order too much and waste food.Definitely would not come here again because how my family and I were treated.

It’s a small 20 seats place so when I had to rebook it I called one week in advance. Well tonight they did not have the same courtesy and when we came for our booking they had a broken pipe but did not manage to let us know…obviously courtesy just one way- guess will never try it as it meant 45 min by bus to come …
