A very unpretentious place but good food for the value. It’s a small place that could use an update and they sat us in an awkward spot where the waiters were pretty much on top of us each time they went by. Make a reservation if it’s the weekend and ask for the back room to avoid sitting near the entrance during winter .

Always impresses me when a restaurant has stood the test of time. This establishment has been here for what I understand to be close to 50 years. My first visit was almost 40 years ago! This 3rd ownership group continues the fine tradition, and has been doing so for well over 20 years. The grilled spicy chicken is sublime, served with house fries and tangy mixed salad. We started it all off with grilled calamari and octopus. Compliment it with some white wine, espresso with natas, and you can't go wrong. Desfrute de sua refeição!

I usually don’t give reviews, but this place was so disappointing. I would give a zero star if I could. The side sauce was overpriced for such a small container and it tasted only of vinegar and inedible. Chicken was dry and fries tasted undercooked. Would never eat here again.

The food was decent, but the service definitely needs improvement. The staff were very slow, and we had to repeatedly ask for both the drink and food menus, only to be ignored. When one of our friends hesitated for a moment to recall his order, the staff responded with a rude expression, which made the experience even more disappointing.
Our experience at Chez Dorval was unfortunately disappointing. Despite being seated promptly, we didn’t receive water until halfway through our meal, and napkins were not provided until the end.
The service was slow; it took a while for our waiter to take our order. When one of our friends needed a few extra seconds to decide, the waiter appeared frustrated and began tapping his pen on the table, which felt quite rushed. Additionally, when another friend asked for the drink menu, it never arrived, and a beer ordered by another friend took 15 minutes to be served.
While we understand that everyone has off days, we hope the service can be improved for future guests.

One of my favourite place. They do porc and clams (plate from Alentejo area ) very very well. In business since I was a kid (1975?) Like very few places, they maintain the quality over time. And the servers are part of the decorum. Real Portugal in Mtl. For those who look for good food with no frills.
