Do not eat here!!! I found a a blonde hair in my lemon gelato. You can clearly see in the pic I am dark skinned with black hair. They clearly do not care about quality. Forever turned off by gelato.

We were checking out this spot and the one next door, but Pedro’s friendly vibe won us over right away. The portions were super generous — we had tiramisu, Ferrero, and a cone of pistachio. Perfect amount of sweetness and really good texture. Cool little spot in the Old Port — definitely worth the stop. Chez Psycho delivers.

We were walking downtown in the Old Port looking for gelato and happened to stumble upon Chez Phycho. From the outside it looked like a decent option, so we decided to give it a try. The shop itself is fairly small, though the selection of flavors was not bad and offered enough variety to make choosing interesting. At first glance, it seemed like a nice little stop for a treat in the middle of a busy tourist area.
Unfortunately, the experience went downhill once we interacted with the staff. The service came across as indifferent, almost to the point of being dismissive. Asking even simple questions felt like it was a bother to them, and in some cases our questions were just ignored altogether. That lack of care really took away from the atmosphere and made the visit feel unwelcoming.
As for the gelato itself, the taste was standard but nothing that stood out, and the portions were quite small compared to the price. Considering the cost, we were left feeling that it didn’t offer good value. My impression is that being located right in a tourist-heavy area probably helps keep this place afloat, because based on the quality and service alone, I don’t see many people returning. For us, it was a one-time visit, and we won’t be back.

It is a little on the pricey side but it's really great quality gelato overall. I should make it more of a habit to look at pricing before my orders lol it's just that 3 cups of gelato came to almost $35 after taxes. I would go back though because like i said the gelato was amazing!
