I came in with high expectations. They were not met. The food was okay. A decent cheeseburger (bread was mushy), a decent poutine (gravy seemed old) I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here. There were no paper towels in the toilet. Overall, a generous 3 stars.

The poutine at this place is delicious. If you are looking for the place to try this typical dish, this is it. The place is also very pretty, with a retro diner vibe. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is very pleasant, as if it were a typical place in the neighborhood. We tried the Hot Dog and it was also very delicious.

Honestly, I expected a lot better given all the positive comments I had heard. The poutine has almost no sauce (but really barely), I asked for extra cheese and they give you a tiny little pot of COLD cheese, you don't even bother putting it in the poutine. I won't go back, that's for sure! This is the first time I've left a negative review on something but honestly don't waste your time or money it's not worth it.

I went there in 2018, at the time I was convinced that I had eaten the best smash burger in Montreal. An offer that was close to a burger from the in and out chain in California. The dream! I would have given it a 5 star at the time.
Today a victim of inflation and reflation, their supply is too expensive and the quantity too small for their prices. The taste is good, but the size is frankly ridiculous for a double cheese burger. We find him very small in his paper, looking sad. I looked for the bread under the pancake because it was so thin. Far from my memories of 2018.
The ingredients are of very good quality and the bread is homemade, but that in no way justifies their price. We're talking about fast food here, and at $17 ($14+tax) for a small double cheese which doesn't include a drink or fries, it makes you wonder if we're not being laughed in the face.

Went with my son. He had the Tousignant poutine. It was good but small for 18$. I took the double burger. It was very good. I would of probably eaten 2. They also have beers. Seating arrangements are a little tight. Staff was friendly.
Was Chez Tousignant always a smash burger? I don’t recall this burger being this good when they first opened 6 years ago. The burger and hot dog actually slaps!! As the kids on TikTok would say: “it’s BUSDIN’ BUSSIN’”. Plus I love this places closest to at 10PM; must gourmet burger spits have a weird tendency to close early.
