What a groovy looking old-style counter. The place looked like a fish n chipper place alright. None too fancy or grubby. Good fairly quick service. The water bottle added a nice touch. The meal was good stuff although none too filling. Would recommend if you are in the area although I found Wellington street to be over-rated.
Enjoyed the food. The quantity is good though we thought one piece of fish wouldn't be enough but the serving was sufficient. Their popcorn shrimps are good too
Really, really good. Although we are born-Montrealers, we (mom, dad, kids) have decided to spend this springtime discovering more about Montreal neighbourhoods, always including a stop at somewhere we feel will meet our various high food standards and be authentic in some way to the history of the neighbourhood. Comptoir 21 was perfect in all ways. Super clean, not overly complicated but with some great art to look at while waiting for our take-out absolutely perfect fish&chips (fresh, cooked exactly right, great sauce) environmentally friendly packaging, nice people, good neighbourhood vibe. Approved by all 5 family members. Summary: top quality delicious food blended with clean authenticity. We look forward to returning.
great place with great food and staff. amazing poutines and smoked meat
Super petit restau reconnu pour ses sandwiches à la smoked meat et ses fish and chips maison... un regal
Atroce ! Un tartare servi dans une assiette chaude . C'est limite insalubre ! Une service lent ++++++ plus jamais !
One of the best places for cocktails in Montreal. Food is actually refined and tasteful too.
Went there for a few drinks The bartenders really know how to make a flavourful and well balanced drink. Handcrafted cocktails done in a timely fashion I didn't eat anything but the food looked great
We were there for our friend's bachelorette party! The maître D gave a great spot and decorated our booth with roses. The bartender designed a special punch in a seashell for our bride-to-be! Wow wow wow!
The food was decent but the service was so slow due to the lack of staff.. had to wait a good 30 min just to pay the bill..

The drinks are made with care and finesse. Their choice of alcohol is expensive. And the imagination is endless. Wonderful service, attentive, courteous and professional. In order to proceed with this review we had to answer I want to five question about the food. We didn't eat but I'm guessing that the food is good that we wrote a three out of five.
Worst service ever. The bar manager wanted us to fit 12 people on a table of 6. She also said “this is my bar, so my rules”. Terrible service. Drinks came 2 hours late and some food never showed up.
Despite the ratings and that this place has i was pretty disappointed. I tried called to let them know I was running late nobody was picking up the call. We arrived about 15 minutes late for a 9PM reservation and when we arrived our table wasn't even ready. The place was far from crowded for being a Friday night and there was only one server. We were able or some food but server didnt tell us the kitchen closes at 10pm so basically only bar food available. The place is good for cocktails but don't come here if you're expecting a good dinner to be provided if that's what you're going for. Oh yea they have a DJ playing on Friday. He played good music but it was quite loud which and hard to have conversations especially when it was before 10.
Honestly, the food was really good but the specialty cocktails were terrible. Two of them were so bad that I couldn't even drink them. When the meal was finally over, the waitress messed up our check. We were paying with a credit card and she almost made us pay the whole bill in cash, due to her mistake. I would not recommend coming here. There are tons of better places to go.
