The food was delicious! My husband said, best lamb chops he's ever had. I loved the ricotta and spinach stuffed ravioli. The overall dining experience was excellent as we were able to sit and be relaxed without feeling rushed at all.

One of my favorite meals in Montreal, would 100% go back. Make a reservation and take your time to enjoy every bite!

My husband and I were here on our 10 year wedding anniversary 17 years ago. We met Emma in her kitchen. We just visited again in a trip with our grown sons. Food and ambiance were incredible again. Definitely recommend.

Everything from parking/valet, to service, to food 10/10. Every dish that I ate was delicious.

The bread was exceptional. Old school loaf with hard crust. The pasta was perfect with delicious simple tomato sauce. I have definitely had better carpaccio. I was not particularly happy with either of the fish dishes. My biggest issue was definitely the service. On a Wednesday night, it was not busy. But everything was slow. It took a very long time to get sparkling water. I began looking for the waiter so we could place an order before he finally came. The food took a long time and was not really hot. By then I had stuffed myself with too much bread. That one is on me. After two bottles of sparkling water I asked to switch to just regular ice water. The waiter agreed and then never brought me any. To pay the bill, I was tempted to take a walk to see if I could find our waiter. I finally flagged him down that I wanted to pay, and it was at least another 10 minutes. The rest of my family had already left the table and I was sitting there tapping my foot until he finally finally finally showed up. The waiter was a disaster. And he was completely unsupported by the other wait staff. They seemed more interested in having a conversation with the table next to us. Maybe they are regulars? On a final note, I am removing this restaurant from my recommendations to friends and other business associates. The food was not quite up to par, but the service took it straight down the drain.

Nous y allions pour manger la fameuse lasagne et malheureusement elle était non disponible ce soir là. Mais malgré tout, les autres choix que nous avons pris étaient excellents!!! Vin excellent et service impeccable.

We stepped into Da Emma and were warmly welcomed, starting the evening with a Negroni at the bar, expertly crafted and perfectly balanced. The setting, nestled in the stone walled cellar, gave the night an elegant yet cozy charm.

Once at our table, the evening unfolded into a Roman feast. We began with the creamiest burrata atop juicy tomato slices, paired with velvety prosciutto, simple, fresh, and divine. The spaghetti carbonara followed, rich and authentic, with just the right balance of pecorino and guanciale.

For the mains, we shared a medley of dishes: a tender roasted lamb shoulder that fell apart effortlessly, savory roasted piglet, juicy lamb chops kissed with rosemary and lemon, and succulent shrimp bathed in a delicate sauce. Each dish was executed with love and mastery.

We paired it all with a stunning Barolo that elevated every bite. No room left for dessert, but we did close the night with a round of amaros, a perfect finale to a truly exceptional meal.

Da Emma is a timeless spot that honors tradition without losing elegance. A must for anyone who takes Italian cuisine seriously.

My fiance and I drove from Ottawa to visit Da Emma and we would definitely do it again!! It did not disappoint! Nestled in the basement of a heritage building, the atmosphere brought you back to Italy. The service was on point; very polite and attentive. And the food... was INCREDIBLE!! From the complimentary piece of bruschetta, to the salad, to the homemade pasta, to the desserts, everything was phenomenal! It was an authentic Italian dining experience. We would/will highly recommend this restaurant to anyone!

APPALLING!!! had reservations for 15 ppl for a wedding dinner, was informed they would charge $5 per person for cake i was bringing. i asked could it be a surcharge instead since taxing me $75 just for bringing my own cake seemed steep. was told by the gentlemen over the phone 'take it or leave it'. i was shocked by his aggressive response and passed the phone to my husband. he then proceeded to tell my husband our reservation was cancelled and hung up. i wanted to find out the name of the person who called and hung up so i could report him to manager or higher up. i called back to confirm my reservation was indeed cancelled by a staff member, and his identity, the lady over the phone said yes it was cancelled by THE OWNER. absolutely speechless that an OWNER would treat and talk to any customers like that, on top of the fact to be so mean and cancel a wedding dinner few days before.

I hate to give a bad review but I would say it’s your best bet to skip out on this place . Most Italian spots give you small servings , but they’re so rich , delicious and filling that it’s worth it. At this restaurant, the appetizer mixed salad is so plain , the dressing just tastes like olive oil salt and pepper . The mushroom pasta is completely unseasoned and the lasagna was okay, mostly seasoned with the salty cheese on top which made it okay. The drinks are plain. I loved the service and the waitresses were very friendly ! But unfortunately the food is not good and the price is way too high for the food to not be good . They gave us bread , no butter , not toasted nothing just bread .
