Adorable little simple restaurant, run for years by the same family. I've been there a few times, and it's always enchanting. It is now the son of the founder who is in the kitchen, and he remains faithful to the family principles: good, authentic, generous and tasty cuisine, a warm welcome and a friendly atmosphere. What’s more, the staff makes a point of serving us in French. There is even a note on the side of the menu asking us to continue speaking French to employees who do not yet master the language very well, so that they can improve. In Montreal, this is rare. I will definitely go back! A word of advice: Book! The restaurant is very small and fills up quickly.

Intimate atmosphere, delicious food, lovely waiters. Food is all cooked from scratch for each meal, so be prepared to wait, but it is well worth the wait! Also, they were very nice to convert the vegetarian thali into a vegan thali. Thank you!

My group and I had another incredible dining experience at Darbar. I am a regular at this restaurant, the chef/owner came out to personally greet us and welcome us to the restaurant and go through the menu with us. The service and atmosphere were excellent as well, and my group couldn’t stop raving about the food. All items we ordered were on point and came out piping hot, the team also took all of our dietary restrictions into consideration and adapted the menu accordingly. Make sure to make a reservation as this restaurant can get quite busy!!
