I don’t judge the taste of the food, but I am highly suspicious on their food scale or the way they weigh up the take out food. I ordered 2 pieces BBQ pork, they charge me $33, and the unit price is $15/lb, however when I back home I weighed it myself by using my own scale, the food is only 570g, missing one pound! Is it normal ?!

Aside from the cha siu pork, which was juicy and tender, I would not recommend this if you want authentic Cantonese cuisine. The soy sauce chicken was cold and the skin was slimy. The fried rice was small in size and its taste was reminiscent of Panda Express. Prices were reasonable.

I’m disappointed to post this review as I’d like to support this restaurant and gave it several opportunities to find a customer for life.First off, I would say I visited half a dozen times previously with mixed results including closed without notice, and out of bbq meat by 6pm.My most recent visit will likely be my last try. I rsvp’d (through Instagram and confirmed with the person running their Instagram) for a special dinner offered for Chinese new year. The menu sounded delicious and I invited friends and family to come along. When we arrive, we’re informed that they are sold out of all the dishes that were part of the special menu and were not even aware of our reservation. The hostess was very apologetic and offered a slight discount on our meal. We should’ve walked out because the food that followed was not worth the hassle. More brown gravy than food, more rice than any other component, each dish was a disappointment. Worst example: We ordered eggplant and beef, a pretty traditional Chinese dish. We got 2 pieces of eggplant to share across 6 people, and probably a handful of pieces of beef. Add 2 cups of plain brown gravy and a bowl of rice for $20.I rarely leave bad reviews. But I wouldn’t want others to be blindsided like we were.

It was really excellent. The pork and duck were tasty. Hot milk tea too. A great discovery. Even the children loved it.

We were downtown Montréal and my family wanted Chinese food. I really did not want food that I could eat at home But, I am so happy we went to Dobe and Andy Chinese restaurant. The food was amazing and our waitress ( Zoe) was incredible and very knowledgeable about the menu. Her recommendations were on point. The barbecue meats are so good. If you are in Montréal, don’t miss this restaurant. Thank you, ~ Zoe

Went today on a Saturday night, we were 8 people, I realise it can get busy but the service was unacceptably slow, half of our table were done their food the other half didn't event get anything yet, because of so many mix ups too, I didnt end up eating what I wanted, the food was soso.We had 2 waitress, 1 with long hair was nice but the younger one with short and iron curled hair was very rude, when we told her we don't understand which order is whom, she just shoved the plate aggressively and told us : eat whatever you wantAnd then avoided our table for the rest of the nightHonestly very dissapointed will never support this restaurant again, terrible service and we weren't the only clients complaining of extremely slow service, another big group we overherd complained they waited over 1h20mins to be even asked what they wanted to eat.do not recommend if you want to go in a large groupe.

Been a regular here for years for good reason. Probably the best HK style Chinese outside of HongKong, easily a contender for the best in Canada much less North America. Amazing portions for the price and all the meats are done perfectly. Every dish is beyond delicious, highly recommend checking out everything on the menu. Don’t sleep on the specials either. Unfussy and straightforward old-school ambience with great staff. See you soon Dobe & Andy’s!!
